Now why would you say that? Scola is easily 6'10" in shoes. I know you must watch a lot of games and seen the players standing next to each other from numerous angles, like many of us have. Landry, for example, isn't nearly as tall as Scola and is generously listed at 6'9". If Landry is 6'9", then hell... Scola must be nearer 6'11"! Now I don't know what their true heights are, because players are measured differently. Why there isn't a standard for that measurement, so we all know their true height, is a mystery to me. The fact remains that Scola isn't as you describe him. And he's no T-Rex, either. I'm puzzled by your post.
McGrady is the same height as Scola. McGrady is closer to 6'9. Scola isn't a long armed athelete for his size. I do think he has strong hands though. He doesn't drop the ball often.
McGrady is clearly taller than Landry, but I think Scola is a bit taller than Tracy is. Not a heck of a lot, but at least an inch, IMO. Maybe more. I agree that Luis doesn't have long arms, but I don't think they're short, either. I guess I'm just seeing the glass half full with Scola, rather than the reverse.
Basketball is a team game, mostly played indoor on a court. It's players are best suited to be tall, strong, athletic and have endurance, as well as the skills of the game. A tall player with the same skills as a shorter player generally had the advantage.
Darn it!! I love this. Is it anyway we can get this to the Rockets, so Daryl Morey can post it in his office. I've been saying this basically for years!!
