Bikers and Gays Storm Austin This Weekend

    Yes, it's that time of year again when the two polar opposites come together to take over the city. The two events:

    Republic of Texas Biker Rally
    Gay and Lesbian Pride Parade

    Whose idea was it to schedule these events on the same weekend? I have no problem with the Gay Pride folks but the biker douches are freaking annoying. They're backing up traffic all over South Congress and have that stupid ass penis complex with the engine revving. Not to mention they are the biggest group of trash assembled in one place, with the 250 lb. heifers they have on the back of their bikes. I'm going to avoid 6th Street this weekend, and I advise you all to do the same. Then we get our city back on Sunday afternoon.

    Bikers do suck. One time they were having some kind of rally in my town and I was at a 4-way intersection and they were coming from the right. 4 of them pull into the middle of the road and hold up traffic so the rest can get into the road at the same time, ignoring the traffic lights.

    The two rallies/parades should be scheduled so that they will cross paths. In that case, I would go to watch any fights that broke out.

    I like motor bikes and I would even ride one if it wasn't so dangerous. I just don't like how alot of bikers rev their engines so loud at intersections and where people are gathered.

    I work on 6th Street and it was pretty tame from what I saw, but what I saw was mostly from inside the bar. It's kind of a pain, but mostly it was fun in the bar tonight. Last year we would have to stop in the middle of a song because someone would be revving their loud bike just outside the door of the bar, but we didn't have that tonight.
