Don't think so. I think his contract is 7M for 2 more seasons. Steve Nash was previously extremely injury-prone, to the point that he was regarded as talent lost to injury.

It wouldn't be a bad idea if they kept him as the 3rd PG. Besides, NVE isn't healthy either. His elbow is bothering him.

    BTW, AvEry, not AvOry.

Johnson's too good to get waived. The Mavs have 6 or 7 players of lesser talent and experience who would be gone well before him.

At last night's game, Van Exel, Raef and Avery were in Cuban's box watching the game. Wahad was not. Maybe Wahad will be waived.

    RR,

Funny you brought up this subject because Francis could sure use a solid veteran PG to learn from. The weakest part of his game is his on-court decision making. Too many times he dribbles into double and triple teams and turns it over or gets stuffed; the refs are not gonna consistently bail him out.

His incredible athletic ability sometimes lures him into making the game harder than it needs to be:rolleyes: He needs to understand the difference between show and substance.

That being said, the Mavs really need a dependable backup PG for Nash and AJ is perfect, really much better than Hardaway. Nash gets beaten up during the season and it really showed during the playoffs last year. I can't see them moving him, he is so solid and a GREAT team player and role model.

Rox could use someone just like him!!

AJ is an exciting addition to the Mavs. It's funny,' but after the Kings game, he assumed that spokesman role he filled for the Spurs and Nuggets. So, at the very least, we have an extremely capable PR guy.

This is basically a young, malleable team, willing to respond to coaching and veteran leadership. AJ, Newman and before them Loy Vaught were all positive in the locker room.
