Ha ha totally agree dude. It may just be homerism, but I really don't see any "dirty" players on this team.

and Pruyen.......thank god your a good poster and person, but you really need to work on your sarcasm recognizability.

Props to Yao; Stern should follow suit and give 4 million, especially after how "his" refs have treated Yao since he came into the league (see "rigged" thread).

I just wonder how much did Kobe or LBJ or some other NBA star donate during Katrina and Rita(who attack New Orleans)

    WHAT?!?!?!?!?

It is NOT sarcasm. I meant it when I said that. Based on his status back there, Yao should have donated at least 50% of his one year salary. Anything less than that is unacceptable. No sarcasm here.

For those who said that's not enough :

This is a long term commitment of his heart, time and effort. Worth much more than just money.

here in china, my parents and i were talking about how much money they donate with the locals. it seems that most people in china don't blame them for donating "not enough". those who complain are limited to a bunch of young internet punks that doesn't do anything except run their mouth.

Good for Yao, that is a LOT of money, and I am sure his foundation will help raise much more.

Great post, this should lend much clarification for many people in the forum. MackFu is a punk indeed, but he's not alone in his strange, detestable mentality. Why would they think in such a way? We the Chinese are a curious race, sometimes I can't understand it myself.

On a more cheerful note, why can't we just see Yao's act as what it is - a shiny example of humanity at its best, humanity that is beyond culture, nationality, politics and the likes of MackFu. Yao makes me proud.

This is a lot of money indeed.

    I especially like this part:
The US Red Cross charged 9% overhead for Hurricane Katrina disaster relief.

Proud of you, Yao. You are the only reason that I still take a look at NBA.

    pryuen,

this scrub didn't even join clutchfans when Yao Ming arrived.
on top of that, he doesn't have 2 million dollars to donate.

don't come out of your semi-retirement for 2007 and 2008ers who haven't proven any worthy content or significance.
