    They have a national oil company that uses profits from exports to subsidize domestic consumption.

    I think they're playing up the risk angle a bit...if they're going during daylight hours I don't think there's much of a risk of anything happening. Most of the crime/violence in Juarez occurs at night, or at least it did when I lived in El Paso.

    Agreed. I was in Juarez a month ago and at no point during my visit did I feel unsafe. Granted, it was just for a couple of hours during the day, but still. :D

    Juarez ain't even that bad...go to Laredo and there's a BIG difference...

    cheaper gas? I guess mexican food is dirt cheap over the border if THAT's the kind of gas you're looking for.

    Heck, I thought: "Sure! Why not? I did it all the time when I lived in Mexico... I came to the Rio Grande Valley and I tells ya, them PANAM chicks were E-Z P-Z." :D
