Actually, the majority of players donate to causes and participate in charaties and don't get a lot of recognition for it. Case in point, someone you mentioned, Carmelo: "Off the court, Anthony donates time and money to causes in Denver and Baltimore. In Denver, Anthony is a spokesman for the Family Resource Center and helps organize a Christmas party, entitled "A Very Melo Christmas," for less well-off children. In Baltimore, Anthony hosts an annual 3-on-3 tournament, known as "Melo's H.O.O.D. Movement 3 on 3 Challenge (Holding Our Own Destiny)" and is helping fund the revitalization of a local community center for local youth. Anthony opened the Carmelo Anthony Youth Development Center in Baltimore on December 14, 2006. He contributed $1.5 million to the Living Classrooms Foundation, a non-profit organization that "provides innovative hands-on-education, job-training and community service programs for over 35,000 children, youth and young adults in the east Baltimore community." Anthony also committed $3 million toward the construction of a newly-planned basketball practice facility at his alma mater, Syracuse University. According to the NBA's official website, "Anthony's gift represents one of the largest individual donations to Syracuse University Athletics and is also believed to be one of largest by a current professional athlete to the school they attended. The practice facilty will be called the Carmelo K. Anthony Facility." Kobe also does a LOT of charity work that goes virtually unnoticed. Assuming that players only spend money on themselves because it isn't reported by the media and you won't take the time to look for yourself is a large part of the reason the NBA has an ongoing "image problem" to this day.
the truth that everyone does not want to see. have good time TMAC. Enjoy yourself and we will see you in training camp!!!!
damn nothing about improving his mental state, such that he takes the ball to the hole rather than being the leagues most talented and athletic jump shooter
who GAF? between all this tmac and yao extracurricular crap, all I care about is them preparing their minds and bodies to actually excel for a FULL SEASON. we've fallen so far as houston fans. its almost disgusting to me. tmacs my fave player in the L and I defend the hell out of him. the rea, though is that he doesn't bring it all the time. he coasts. as soon as he focuses on being the man for an entire season and offseason, he'll be mvp, get out of the first round, and lead us to glory. same goes for the ever-philosophical and ever philosoftical yao. get your rest in the off-season, yea. but spend an equal amount of time getting your body in shape. get your mind in shape by being around the game. the season isn't over!!!! sure it is oon the court for the rox, but that's part of the problem, we've never (w/this crew) been this far. I'd LOVE to see tmac, yao, and the whole damn team courtside right now...around the players...absorbing and learning what its like to be warriors! nope, were on vacation and (apparently) loving it.
I hope Tmac can practice his freethrow more this summer. His low ft% affected his motivation to drive to the basket.
If he really practices them this summer, he could be up to 80% easily, i don't know how player(s) make such a big deal about them to be shooting that low of a % from the charity strip is shameful and doesn't require grueling practice anyways
do these guys really write this stuff or their assitants just type it up and TMAC approves it?...i highly doubt TMAC sits at a computer to write all this....
it was short as hell. Hey, T-Mac didn't go to college but you learn how to write 2 paragraphs in Middle School.
T-Mac should have watched the NBA Championship games. He can learn something from Paul Pierce tonight. Pierce asked Doc River to put him on Kobe even though the Celtics has a defensive-minded James Posey, who plays like Shane Battier. Pierce's defense was one of the reasons why Boston won tonight and probably will win the championship this year. T-Mac would never do that; that's why he's a loser.
Wrong. T-Mac wanted to guard Dirk during the 2005 Playoffs and did a damn good job of shutting him down.
