Those 3 clips actually make the movie look better now. Not sure if it's because it's more polished but the CGI doesn't look as fake as the original trailer.
These movies are for kids. Superhero movies suck. The only one I really like is Batman Begins and Tim Burton's Batman. Batman Begins is more realistic than the others and has a good storyline and enemy. I think I like the cinematography. Tim Burtons Batman I like only because of Jack Nicholson and the unforgettable role he played for the Joker. The Superman movie that recently came out wasnt that bad and the ones with Christopher Reeves were decent. Spiderman is decent. Some Examples of bad superhero movies are: X-Men The Punisher Captain America All of the Hulks Blade Trilogy Daredevil
If you want an entertaining superhero movie watch Iron Man. By the way, where are the Spiderman Movie's on your list.
I prefer the Bill Bixby TV series to any Hulk move/preview I've seen. I notice they're using the TV series music in the trailers for this new Hulk movie. Too bad they're also using a cartoon Hulk.
Tony Stark isn't the only Marvel character outside the typical Hulk cast that makes an appearance in this movie. I'm hoping that they put as much an effort into this as Iron Man, if they do they will be to superhero movies as Pixar is to animation. http://www.aintitcool.com/node/36874
Can you just tell me who it is underneath a spoiler tag? I don't want to wade through a bunch of giddy spoiler ridden verbiage just to find out the only thing I am interested in. Is that such a crime?
The industry realized that all of the superhero movies they had made early on weren't that good and thats why they're starting to make reboots of a lot of the good franchises. But that has no bearing on whether the next few superhero movies will flop or not.
seeing the commercials i have the same problem with the version four years ago, cartoon hulk. i think it actually hurts this movie that the tv series was successful. for those who remember watching the tv series, they wouldn't actually show the hulk that much. it wasn't a cartoon, it was really a tragedy and it was actually pretty good television. spidey only had to live up to a cartoon/comic and batman had a silly sixties television show to compete with. the hulk has alot to live up to.
No no no. The creature the Hulk collides with on the trailer doesn't look anything like the Swamp Thing, who in addition to Iron Man, was one of my favorite comics as a kid. The Swamp Thing also doesn't move very fast either.
The Hulk in the comics is a big giant monster, a body builder painted green won't cut it it. But the tv show did influence this movie. The link nyquil posted talked about how the first half of the movie feels like an episode of the tv show. Lou Ferigno has a cameo and they found out he has a Hulk voice he's worked on over the years and actually used some vocals from him for the Hulk. I was pretty skeptical until reading the aintitcool article. I usually trust Moriarty and the things he described like how the director based the Hulk transformation on American Werewolf in London and that you can hear Bruce Banner's bones breaking and the muscles stretching, it just sounds like an agonizing process. Plus the Frankenstein/King Kong scene where he caries Betty Ross off to some quiet place sounds really well done.
So apparently they cut a TV ad that spoils the big cameo, I've read that this movie is starting to pick up steam, but I guess they are still worried people won't go. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOq0BD_Eiig
I don't blame them, they're capitalizing on Iron Man's insane popularity. And anyone who follows the press about this movie knows that Stark makes an appearance.
I just came back from an early screening. I was pretty entertained and thought the CGI was much better than what they showed in the trailers. My friend said that there was a rain scene where it looked like they were just showing off. To sum it up briefly, this movie was made for all the people who thought the last hulk movie sucked or could have been done better. I won't say it was better than Iron Man, but it was better than all the X-Men movies (and I liked X-2). It was a lot like Batman Begins in the sense that it redid the series and put a much better take on the concept and didn't try to belittle the fans of the character or try to cheese it up just for kids. Movie flowed very well and did not have any slow points (unlike the first Hulk which had long stretches of boring parts). Had some pretty good funny scenes and Ed Norton really played the part well. Impressively well. I would say it's a mistake to group this movie with past superhero genres. This doesn't try to dumb it down to people or make it corny (ie fantastic four). They made it dark, action packed and a lot of easter eggs for those who watched Iron Man or who were fans of the comic books and the old TV series. I think the directors cut will be a better movie, but this one was good for the timing in the theater. Also, there are some very graphic parts when he is transforming, so kids might get scared. I think adults would enjoy this movie as a whole more than kids (kids will like the action scenes but might get bored with the other parts). A lot of people are probably going to skip on this one because the last one was so bad or because they are getting Superhero-genre exhaustion or they don't want to be disappointed after Indiana Jones. I would highly recommend giving this a shot because it tries to do very differently from what people are assuming this movie will be about. I was not disappointed at all and will see it again this weekend.
