Good scary flicks come as rarely as NBA allstar Center nowadays. If this movie is even a fraction of "The Others" I'd go see it. Even the Asian horror movies which used to be very good has gone on a steep decline.

I guess I'll just have to wait until this comes out on DVD.. which here in Asia.. is probably next month.

The movie was ok, thats it. It is scary but it lacks a story.

I saw it on opening night. Huge mistake.

First there were some thug teenagers talking **** to each other the first 10 minutes or so, with one of them standing up trying to act tough a couple of times before eventually taking his girl and walking out. Everybody clapped like 8th graders (because they probably were 8th graders).

Then there was Gilbert Grape's mother sitting 2 seats to my left, commenting loudly on every single aspect of the movie. I wanted so badly to turn and say "If you actually ran as much as you run your mouth, maybe you wouldn't weigh 500lbs", but I'm not the confrontational type and I was scared that she might sit on me.

As for the movie itself, it created a lot of tension but like others said, it didn't really go anywhere. Instead of a plane taking 2 hours to take off, it was more like a car taking 2 hours to drive off a cliff.

And of course there were the obligatory dumb choices...

When they had the shotgun, why didn't they just make their way out to the middle of the huge front yard? All they had to do was sit back to back by a tree and watch for the crazies until day light. Yes it puts them out in the open, but it did not appear that the killers had any long range weapons, so the shotgun would have given them the upper hand. Plus it was clear that the killers didn't just want to kill them (from long range, if they had a gun) but wanted to torture them instead.

That's what I would have done.

I was thinking the same thing..
this would never happen in texas cause people know how to use shotguns, plus there was only one dangerous person, the dude. the other two girls would have ran to the woods if they getting blasted by shotguns. i would have shot them all, any crazy people wearing masks, if you have shotgun, its a no brainer..PULL.
