This isn't a relevant reply to my post. Just like it isn't relevant putting down Houston Rockets players when everyone else is discussing the Celtics/Lakers game.

But it's ok tinman. Ryu and Ken still got along after a fierce battle. I'm not mad at you. Shoryuken!

Sam gave me something to cheer for in the first half. Heart of a champion is still beating, however faint it was. Brought back memories, if only for a half.

To the people like me cheering against the Lakers, if the Lakers hadn't stolen Gasol, and Bynum was healthy, and yet they were still somehow in the Finals vs. the Celtics, who would you cheer for/against? I really don't know myself. Maybe I wouldn't really care who won if that were the case. *shrug*

But, since things didn't turn out that way, GO CELTICS!

you may try to short kick and throw me, but i let you do that, so later in round 3, where you try that, i pull a reserve on you (done by pressing the throw button a split second faster than you) and you get thrown in the corner, then the ryu/ken corner trap is masterfully executed!

    :D

Wow, Celtics defense is really impressive. They held best team in this year's playoffs to just 88 points and Kobe was 9/26. That is impressive.

Dude things like this is why everyone hates you and your stupid superior attitude. The second half of that game Cassell played like crap. Saying that doesn't make me less of a Rockets fan than you.

    Elitists suck.

If the Lakers had made the Finals without the Pau giveaway, I'd still want the Celtics, just barely.

Man, that was the first finals game I cared about since game 4 in 95. What a good series. Pierce was so clutch, unlike Jordan, er Kobe. Sorry, been watching too much finals pre-series hype. They want him to be MJ so bad.

This game was a perfect microcosm of Garnett's career. Showstopper for 3 quarters, and then poof! he SUCKS in money time. Tip dunk notwithstanding (let's be honest, he was in the right place at the right time) he was total garbage in the 4th quarter. I think he went 1-11 or something like that in last quarter (+ end of 3rd, not sure).

and then to top it off, he starts talking about "MFer can't stop me (or has to foul me)," after Fisher fouls him. Are you kidding??!! You just went 0-8 you jackass!

Still, with PP playing well, and Jesus Shuttlesworth looking better, I say:

    Celtics in 6.

"MFer can't guard me" is what I thought he said. No surprise. KG is one of the most pompous players in the game and Gasol is hopelessly soft and unimpressive defensively.

P.S. I'm glad you've noticed what i've been saying for years about KG. That's his career in a nutshell. A numbers guy that's obviously a very good player but he's also somebody that can't carry a team and wilts under pressure.

The C's are brilliant. What do you do whenever you have three overrated stars entirely uncapable of carrying a team by themselves? You trade all three of them to the Eastern Conference on the SAME team.

do i care what other people say? sorry its not a popularity contest.
if it pisses you off that i still enjoy watching the old rockets play, then i'm glad you're pissed off :D

at least i watched the first half, tigermission's mission has been to slander cassell the entire time, look at his thread history.

    elitists no?

tinman you are just blinded by your man love for casell .. what is up with that. .did he give you a bj with his freaky looking face? i loved the championship years and i was a huge sam fan back then and what he did with the rockets. but he is one player that i have grown to dislike over the years.. he is arrogrant talks a lot of crap.. his play has also gone down hill as he has turned into a poor decision making pg that just jacks up shots any chance he gets.. i have friends who are celtics fans that are just pissed as hell with him when he gets on the court.. much like how al ot of us was mad at rafers play early in the season. they were screaming for doc to take sam off the court and cheered when he finally was pulled out of the game.. even jackson and gundy said they thought Doc left Sam in there too long... plus i know people that have worked in the sporting/nba world and have met sam.. they all tell me the same thing that sam is one of the most arrogrant and least fan friendly atheltes they have met... anyways stop being an arrogrant tool.. . i loved the rocket championship years and what the dream bought to houston. .sam had some key shots in those championship games but he is no longer a rocket and hasnt done jack for houston since then

every analyst Magic, Jon Barry, the boston herald, agreed that Sam had a good game last night.

Sam wins one then it adds to the lore of the original team. the ultimate teammates, Horry, Cassell, Elie.. players that help teams win championships.

go Boston! Beat LA! Beat LA!

i thought he started the game okay by making his first 3 shots .. but then in the 2nd half .. he missed all his shots except his one key basket. .but it wasnt if he made or didnt make his shots.. it was his decision making.. being up and jacking up bad shots early in the shot clock.. and then the one time for him to jack up a shot he passes it up!!! and has a shot clock violation..
anyways one thing i will agree with you on is BEAT LA.. .

he had a couple bad decisions but rivers is using him clearly as a scoring option off the bench.

what people here don't see is the details.

he hit his first 3 shots on FISHER.
Phil Jackson then puts KOBE on Sam.

its clear that Sam can score on Fisher/Vuyacheck and that its Boston's strategy to use him for that reason.

yea well okay i guess he played an okay game and had some good moments and bad.. anyways.. i thought the defense the celtics played on kobe was good and kept him out of sync the whole game.. lets see if they can do it again in game 2 .. i suspect kobe is going to come out and drop 40 on the celts..

Larry Bird on NBA Radio just said he thinks Kobe is going to have a huge game 2. I'll contribute to the Kobe mania that's the more popular topic.

So your prediction might come true. I'm actually thinking 35 points, 20 in the fourth.

don't worry about it, it's his schtick. Besides the rockets, he kinda gets off on aggravating other posters over silly arguments. At least he isn't littering every thread with a bunch of pics anymore. Well, not as much. :D
