Beasley is the best player in this year's draft. Chicago is crazy if they take Rose over him with their need for front court scoring.
This thread is deceptive. The question should be "Who do you take?" instead of "Who's better"? It's like comparing Chris Paul vs. LeBron. Those kind of comparisons are too hard to make. It just depends on what you need.
I agree. If you needed both positions I would take Rose, because historically great point guards are harder to come by than great forwards. If you have a glaring need at PF then you take Beasley. From what I can see, Chicago could use both and they could probably get something pretty good for Heinrich, so I think they will take Rose.
Beasley is too short to be as great as Rose will be, in my opinion. Unless Beasley gains mad range...I know he already has some
If I were building a team from scratch, I would take Beasley. Hes a "type" of player you can build your team around (assuming a good work ethic in the NBA). The Bulls are a talented team already and could use a pass-first PG to really bring it all together and make his teammates better (Hinrich doesn't really fit that mold).
If I were stacked at SF and had a glaring need at PG, I would still take LeBron over CP3. CP3 is the best PG in the league but LeBron is the most dominant player bar none.
As a big, Beasley doesn't have to be quite as good as Rose to have as big an impact. That said, I think Rose has a fantastic chance of being a serious franchise player. I think Rose is more likely to turn a team around into a winner, though Beasley might look better in the short term. Evan
