Ok I know this one will be controversial. But what about Bonzi? He's an unrestricted Free Agent? Can we get him for about what we paid him last time?

He won't get better, if not worse. We should just focus on getting a really good role player (sg/sf) that is truly worthy of entire MLE or more than that through sign and trade.

They should stick to players under 32 in the 2008-09 season. If they are going for an older player, he's got to be a former all-star that can make an impact.

I don't think he would want to come back to Houston after being traded off.
He was happy here the 2nd time around b/c of adelman.

He is done being a consistently effective player. If he can't thrive offensively under Adleman or with Chris Paul as his PG then I doubt the team wants him.

I don't think the Rockets want to bring in the sort of stop-gap that Bonzi is at this point in his career.

Not no, but HECK NO !!!

He is a knucklehead, without a jumpshot, defense or the ability to hit free throws.

    Pass.....

Agree, DD. Not worth the headache for the odd productive game here and there, followed by a string of mediocre ones and, more likely than not, an injury. No continuity.

    Pass, pass, pass!

The real question is will Bonzi even be in the NBA next season, at least at the start. My guess is no. He was so bad in the playoffs that he might not get an invite. Stick a fork in Porky Boy Fatzi.

the rox don't need someone to just fill a roster spot. they need a difference maker. i don't know if they will be able to get a good sg this offseason, but bonzi is not going to help.

lol I guess it wasn't so controversial after all. Everyone pretty much agrees that Bonzi is not the answer.

Actually Kelenna could be the younger more athletic version of Bonzi wells. They do both sort of play that slashing take it to the hoop style.

I'd much prefer Morris Almond who the Jazz picked last draft.

Makes me hate the Jazz even more(if its possible) when they pick Almond who we were going to draft.

    not quite...

Bonzi wells is a slasher who is a beast on the boards and post up skills of a foward. Azuibuke is more of a slasher/shooter wing, he isn't exceptional at anything but the warriors style sure makes him look good. I remember the mavs used to play uptempo and it made Marquis Daniels look really good until the Pacers got him and they realized he ain't that good.

Think we are behind the Bonzi experiment. He's getting up there in age, we need someone with fresh legs...someone in the late 20's age wise
