If we got sheed/billups, battier and landry or scola could be traded for someone else. Personally i would rather have battier than billups and our 2 headed monster over sheed.

This wouldn't be a good trade in Detroit's POV.

Just go to the Manu-Tmac thread and you can count them by the pool results.

Maybe the only way for T-Mac to get out of the first round is to play for the team that cursed him...

I wouldn't do it. Neither Wallace nor Billups seem to be playing with the fire they had when the Pistons were winning championships. They coast in the playoffs and then act surprised when they get beat. Besides, if we're going to get rid of T-Mac I don't want it to be for two guys in their 30's. The only way I'd consider trading T-Mac is if the deal includes a young player we can build around. I would trade him to the Bulls for a resigned Deng and their #1 pick in a heart beat, but short of something like that, I'm staying with T-Mac.

Billups will end up being a realistic option since he's widely perceived to be "breaking down" despite being only 31-years-old and has a lengthy contract thats extected all the way until 2012.

I don't mind entertaining the thought of dealing for him since he fits the "win now" approach. His contract scares me a bit but as evidenced by last night's game, he's still entirely capable of taking over games and being the best player on the floor at any given moment. For a team that's lacking playoff experience like our's, adding a former NBA Finals MVP?

The question is: what will it take? Since Dumars is likely to blow everything up and build around Hamilton, Prince, Stuckey and Maxiell --- i'd say there's a realistic chance our "feature" package of B-Jax, Brooks, picks and whoever would be enough to get his attention.

Stay the hell away from Rasheed. I realize he's a good player but we don't need him on our team at this stage in his career. I don't want to see this idiot chucking up horrible 3's and getting T'ed up in one point games. My head will explode.

I wouldn't do this trade since we don't need Sheed, we got Scola already. I would do it if it's Billup + Prince or Billup + Hamilton.

Last 4th quarter in game 6 Mr. Big Shot was Mr. Big Choke imo. His numbers were good, so maybe he is not declining as much, I'll give you that. He is up in age though. However, sheed sucked and is getting old as well.

Neither of them would do what T-Mac does for this team, so I still wouldn't trade for them. T-Mac, short of being forced to retired due to injuries will outproduce for a longer period of time. Billups/sheed makes our window even smaller than it is.

Hold on. You wouldn't do it because we don't need Sheed because we already have Scola. But you would do Billups + Prince even though we already have Battier?

    I don't get it.

Yao and or Tracy are superior to Sheed IMO. I respect your opinion about Battier but I feel Billups is much better than him. I seriously doubt if the Pistons would trade him for Shane even if the salaries were equal.

it's funny you say that but when have we ever blame a loss based on tmac's defense?

when he guards good scorers, he shuts them (point blank the playoffs or utah series). just b/c he guards the scrubs and don't hustle as much, as long as he doesn't give up the points, it's all good. kobe does the same thing.

Actually you are right, Kobe is usually put on good scorers, shooters because he is LA's best 1on1 defender.

Tracy used to guard scrubs. Maybe he should be more effective, active on defense and focus more on that. But he CAN play GREAT defense if he only wants.

Remember series against Mavs? T-Mac guarding Dirk?

the point is if we didn't have battier and tmac is forced on good scorers, he'll do a great job. rarely do you see tmac get burn by another scorer. whenever shane struggled to guard anybody in the playoffs v. the jazz, adelman put tmac on those guys and he either shut them down or slow them down a lot.

He already gets tired playing only offense. I cant wait to see how long he lasts playing defense against good scorers.

But Rick doesn't want to see McGrady's best on defense, he knows he is the most important player in the offense and he knows he has to use him on that side of the floor.

I am sure McGrady could be great defender if he only had to/wanted
