JAG-I've been watching ESPNEWS for the past 30 mins.

Aldridge said that Boston traded Johnson, Palacio, Brown, and their #1 pick to Phoenix for Tony Delk and Rodney Rogers.

No mention of EG and Norris, though I wish we had made a move for Joe Johnson. I think with Norris, KT, and Willis, we could've put together a better package. Boston got mauled in this trade, IMO.

    Shoot, I agree!

The Celtics got raped. Suns made out like bandits with good, young talent.

Damn. P-Dub and Toine are probably jumping for joy Boston gave away their future.

Given that Phoenix gave up their only low post scorer (Rogers), they must have a deal in place for his replacement (i.e. Marc Jackson??)

If a team were to trade for Marc Jackson would the Rockets then be able to trade for him?

Maybe Phoenix will trade Joe Johnson plus a scrub for Willis?

I can't believe Boston traded away three first round picks(Johnson, Brown, 2002 1st) for Delk and Rogers.

Contrary to what most people in this thread think, I believe the Celtics made a solid move here. As it stands right now, the Celtics have the 3rd best record in the east. They are absolutely desperate for offense with no one outside of Pierce and Walker scoring in double figures. Tony Delk and Rodney Rogers definately gives them some extra firepower. Tony Delk is struggling this year. But he is still a legitimate scoring threat, who can provide some sparks off the bench. Rogers is rebounding from last year's disappointment. His play is comparable to where it was when he won 6th man of the year. Celtics feel they have a chance to win in the East. Without a doubt, Delk and Rogers enhanced their chances, even if it is only marginally.

What they gave up was 2 scrubs and Joe Johnson who hasn't shown much this year. He's got some nice skills, but doesn't do anything really well. His athleticism is only slightly above average. He's really struggled with his shot, which was suppose to be a strength. Not developing into the 3rd scoring threat that Boston was hoping for. Their 1st round choice in the 2002 draft will be in the 20's. To get two playoff tested role players for an unproven talent and a late first rounder isn't too bad in my opinion. And the other guy they gave up was Randy, not Kedrick Brown.

Not before October 19 (or 1 year after he signed the contract with the warriors). MJax can't be on the Rockets roster (even if he was traded through all the other 27 teams in the league) until 1 year after he signed the contract.

Let's trade Francis for Kenny Anderson while we're at it.

You haven't watched much Celtic ball, then. Johnson looks great. His problem is that he needs the ball as part of his game, and so do Piece and Walker. Johnson has looked... a lot like Pierce, actually, his first year, imo.

Looking like Paul Pierce means scoring 16.5 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 1.7 spg, and 1 bpg. Paul worked off the ball almost exclusively his rookie year and thrived. If Joe Johnson is struggling without controlling the ball, it just shows both weaknesses in his game and how different Pierce and Johnson really are in terms of talent and skill level.

you cannot have three guys needing the ball to make their game work on a team. Johnson requires the ball and he is not fit while Pierce and Walker are there. It was a good move, though bittersweet for Boston. ya, they gave up Joe, but to help them this year and next to get through the East, Rodgers and Delk give them experience and depth at 2 positions for scrubs and a non-impact first rounder....great move for Boston because Johnson would not have been a fit long-term anyway. Rodgers gives them another big man threat who is athletic and Delk gives them some instant offense on the bench...

I would actually put to you that Johnson is not a fit for Pheonix, unless Nickel is going bye-bye next year or the following. i guess Phoenix figures he will get hurt or throw up on the team.
