A friendly between the country that invented the English language, and the country whose President is screwing it up.

    :D

A game at Wembley stadium, big friendly, let's see how the USA plays against an international power like England.

    USA...USA...USA......on ESPN Classic at 2pm.

    England 2-1.

    Englands an international power?

Their Leagues are full of overseas players and they havent won a thing at international level for so long!

Nah, you'll find thats all hype. They are not a very good side at all.

A big name, but not a good team. They missed qualification for Euro 2008.

As an Aussie, I found it quite good for a laugh. :D

By the way, last time we played England, we smacked them. Hopefully you lot do the same. :D

They have some of the top talent in the world, but they're not even top 10 in Europe right now.

That said, it's a great test for the young US team. Play a good team on the road in the home of football. I just want to see a good effort. I'm not concerned about a win, though it would be nice. They've got Spain this weekend and Argentina a week later. This is the toughest stretch of friendlies the USMNT has ever had. What a great way to get prepared for WC qualifying.

I think the REAL ENGLISH people will win. If the ILLEGALs win, it will be nice to see, but I doubt it. :p

    English 3
    Illegals 2

UH-OH. That's loser talk, man. Do you really want a win, or no?

DaDarkone, the real European test will be against the country that invented the Spanish language in June...

It's a friendly in England. Of course I want a win, but as long as they have a good showing and don't get embarrassed, I'll be happy. This game has no meaning other than giving extremely valuable experience to some younger players.

No meaning...? No meaning? Wow. More loser talk. I get pissed if my team loses against BELIZE or against GERMANY... I want a win no matter whom we play... I can't believe you're still doing more loser talk. :D

This game should have been scheduled for JULY 4, 2008. :p

Kam, live on ESPN CLASSIC, replay is on GALAVISION at 7 p.m..

They are a good team but an underachieving one.
Most of the Three lions supporters like myself are currently in the doldrums and just waiting to see what "The Cabbage man" can do with our lads. All the knockout round Penalty losses since 96 mounted up and the final straw was 2006. We tried to give Macca a chance when he took over but it was just a mess, as was evidenced when Israel gave us a chance to get into the Euro's and we proceeded to lose in a terrible and shameful fashion to Croatia at Wembley.

I can't believe you're taking delight in winning a friendly match 3-1( what a smacking), a match in which our manager chose to substitute basically his entire Starting 11. Plus we all know how much stock Sven put in friendlies.

Anyway, I know the US has a solid squad, only issues are uptop with the retirement of McHead, but I think it'll be a 2-2 draw. A lot of my fellow brits still underestimate the US team and that's a shame.
