I don't. Lamar Odom, while talented, would not significantly help this team. In fact, he would probably hurt it. His FG% is abysmal, he's a turnover machine, and he's weak on defense. He has a ton of natural gifts, but those weaknesses are too great to invest heavily in Lamar Odom. I wouldn't mind getting Corey Maggette, however, at a lower asking price.

I think ODOM would be a perfect SF who could allow us to do away with the 3 guard line up. He is a small forward who can handle the ball like a point, post up, score off the dribble and averages 5.2 assists a game. His assists are equal to Moochies.

I realize it's wishful thinking, but I would love for him to be on this team. I would gladly give up any combination of KT, Walt, Willis, Moochie, Lottery pick.

Any combination of that? So, all of it, if the Clippers returned us cap filler?

Sounds terrible. We trade a 14/8 PF, a potential player who could one day be as good as Odom (mid-lotto pick), and good back-up PG for... a player who's a bit of a head-case and doesn't look like he'll ever fill his potential... and would be a bit redundant with players we already have? Yuck.

I really liked Odom two years ago. I thought he'd be better than Francis or Brand. Still think he could be better than either of them. But until he commits to working hard... he's going to be nothing more than decent.

It's amazing: in his rookie season and his sophomore season, everyone thought Odom was perhaps the most talented of the draft class, destined to eventually outstrip Francis and Brand. Stingy Donald Sterling came out and said during the rookie year he would max Odom out when the time came. Now, the guy gets treated like a scrub.

I would love to have Odom. Only if Rudy plays him as a point forward though. I dont want to see him building a tent at the three point line. If he was running the offense for us Steve and Cuttino would break hell on the opposing team.

Ooooooooooh just gives me goose bumps thinking about it.

    Steve
    Cuttino
    Lamar
    Eddie
    Kelvin

Offense, defense, passing, rebounding, every freakin thing a baskeball needs.

Come on CD, work that damn phone! :(

I think that most of us on this board believes that KT is redundant given the play of EG and Mo's contract. We will not get a better SF in the draft. Therefore, for me, it would be an easy decision.

I would be hesitant to include Moochie due to Steve's headaches, but if he was the deal breaker, Moochie would be gone. Plus, Odom replaces the assist we get from Moochie.

If you think of our assets right now as KT, Moochie, and our draft pick(s), I would give up two of the three to get Odom, although I'd prefer to keep the draft pick.

Rudy loves the three guard line-up and Odom would let us do it, but still match size for size defensively. That alone makes me want to to the deal.

Being in LA, I see Odom very often on TV and once in person at a summer league game anyhow the guy is awesome! He's got major handles for a 6'10 F, Maybe the best I have seen for someone over 6-8, he handles better than many guards in the NBA IMO. For the Clippers they use him much like how Pipen was used for the bulls or how Hill was used in detroit being a point forward, 25-50% of the time he usually walks it up court. He's got major passing skills and great vision in seeing the open man. LO loves to slash to the basket and hand it off and I think that is what RT is looking for in a SF(remember how SA was used to just drive in and kick it out, LO is great at that). Seriously I would LOVE to have him on our Rockets even if it meant losing everyone but SF,CM,EG,MT(our true nucleus). And another good thing is that LO doesn't look to score as much as he looks more to rebounding and assisting(in other words that he's not going to demand the ball in iso to score but rather to pass it). But that could be a bad thing as many times I seen him pass up open shots to pass it to teamates. Anyhow he would really speed up our offense and get things moving. And he no doubt can hang on the fastbreak, he's quick and fast in transition. The bad on him is that he isn't that good of a shooter, actually he's really inconsistent. He gets alittle too exicted in crunch time as he usually shoots a shot way to early or tries to do to much. He blames himself too much for loses too. Also does too many fancy moves and passes that end up in turnovers. And of course his off court problems. But I don't think he's a trouble maker at all, and I really think he's a great team player. When he was suspended many of his teamates wore his number on their uniforms or shoes somehow. He's smiles and hi fives his teamates very often in games. His post up game is OK, he uses his quickness more than his strength to get by his man, really good at getting open underneath. His defense is good, he gets blocks and steals and very rarely gets beaten by his man in terms of speed and quickness in the half court game. All and all I think LO would be great on the Rockets. Imagine our front court:

    6-11 Cato
    6-10 Griffin
    6-10 Odom

    Tall and atheletic.

KT/Moochie/Toronto's pick + This years pick.

    for

    Odom

Because Odom makes very little this year and the next its hard to match quality for quality, so in order to make the deal work we would have to involve our picks and maybe future picks.

You know, the Rockets probably inquired about Duncan too, but were rejected as well.

Lots of teams inquire about lots of players, but in the end how many trades are there?

I knew it! I knew we were after that guy!

We might be able to land him by dealing with the Bulls (KT has value; Fizer is currently on the block; etc.) We'll see.

The only way the Rockets get Odom is if Griffin, Mobley, or Francis is included in the trade.

    The Clippers have:
    C--Olowakandi
    Pf-Brand
    SF-Miles
    SG-Richardson, Magette
    PG-?

Frankly I don't think the Rockets have anything other than Francis and Griffin whom the Clippers would want. I doubt the Clippers would want Mobley.

As much as I would love to add Odom, I would perfer to see the Rockets make a run at Rashard in the offseason. Here's the trade that I would make for Odom:
Mo, Moochie, Toronto's pick and a future first round pick
    for
    Odom and Keyon Dooling

    For Rashard I would trade:
    Mo, Moochie, Toronto's pick
    for
    Rashard and Shammond Williams

The Rockets can get Odom without dealing Griffin, Francis or Mobley. Plain and simple.

    You guys don't get it.

Odom will help out the Houston economy, at least the Houston drug dealers.

There is no way in hell do I want Odumb here. We have one pothead already (Mo and probably Mooch).

Instead of a basketball coach, we will need a parole officer to overlook the team.

Odom is a cancer that I would like to avoid at all costs.

Unless the Clips are willing to take some of our garbage for him.

Damn all this pot head, drunk, etc. crap about ball players.
I'm willing to bet that the majority smoke and/or drink on a regular basis, just so happens that a few get caught every year.

I wouldn't hesitate on the chance to pick up Odom, as long as it's reasonable.

Help the drug dealers economy? There's a difference between smoking pot and smoking crack cocaine. I don't think the guy's a cancer, if the guy's a cancer for smoking pot then half the league is a cancer. Perkins got to 3 NBA Finals smoking pot. I'd take Odom in a heart beat. A frontcourt of Griffin and Odom would be among the best in the league, and ridiculously versatile.
