Okay, the Suns are not playing well this season. Skiles is fired, and now there's a new coach for the Suns to make the play-offs. Will they make it??? I think and really hope so. What do you think??? They've got some great players, like Marbury, Marion and Hardaway. If these three guy's play well, there's still a change isn't it??

The Suns need to jettison Penny and Marbury and build around Marion. Until they do, they will never be contenders in the west...and they may not see the playoffs for awhile either, no matter the coach.

Everyone points to the Marbury/Kidd trade as to why the Suns aren't doing good this year. That didn't help, but it isn't the main reason.

The Suns traded Cliff Robinson for a half eaten bag of donuts. They miss his defense and versatility a lot.

They may or may not make the playoffs and it wouldn't matter too much who their coach is. They just aren't as talented as they once were.

I think that the traded between Kidd and Marbury, was good for the Nets, but it isn't for Phoenix. Marbury isn't playing as a leader like Kidd used to play. Phoenix should made Marion the leader, that releases the pressure for Penny and Marbury and they will play better. But with the team they have, they could make the playoffs.

Marbury would pee in his pants and cry if he wasn't the #1 option.

Marion doesn't have the consistent jumper, or driving skills to be a #1 just yet.

I think Marbury realizes that the season is either a lost cause, or he will be traded, as he jacked up 26 shots to go with 4 assists tonight.

What a horrible trade for the Suns.

Losing Kidd is the MAIN REASON why the Suns have faltered. Robinson isn't really doing too much in Det.

Granted, the trade was made to avoid the luxury tax, and to get some expiring contracts, but if you put Kidd on the Suns, they are at least a 6-8 seed.

Will the Suns make the playoffs??

NOPE.......doesn't matter who is coach. Lously off-season moves have weakened this franchise. And giving up Kidd for Marbury was an awful decision.

Jason Kidd is simply the best pure PG in the game and elevates the game of his teammates like no one since Magic. You just don't trade players like that.

    Bad, over-used pun:

    The Suns have set.

They've fallen and can't get up. Starbury can't/won't lead them, Penny has a contract befitting the player he was six years ago, and the frontline....well, wait, what frontline.

It's too bad for them, hopefully lucky for us in a year or two.

i agree with hobbs, getting rid of Robinson was a bad action, but the worst was getting rid if kidd, i don't understand them why do you trade the best floorleader in the nba for a unbelieveble selfish player, who didn't want to play with garnett because he makes more money (grow up stephon. Garnett should make about 10 times more money than you) Phoenix should get rid of marbury for a good floor leader, someone who wants to pass, like miller or Kidd. they have enough scorers. i don't know if they will make the playoffs, if they dump Marbury they will.

I just want to say that Marbury isn't the selfish player that he was. He's still a bit selfish, but not as selfish as he was in New Jersey. He dishes out at least 8 assist per game. I think Phoenix needs a coach who can make Marbury think that he's not the only good player on the court. But i think he's still a good point guard, not as good as Kidd (who is??) but good. The next thing Phoenix need is a center who can make some points, and grabs at least 10 rebs per game. They need some strong defence!!!

I like your optimism, but the Suns arent holding the 8th seed or anything. They are three games behind the 28-25 Sonics (who are playing real good ball now and have cool uniforms!) themselves.

I dont expect the Suns to make the playoffs. It seems that both the Blazers and Sonics are playing better basketball right now while the Suns get worse, losers of 4 in a row and 6 of their last 10.
