My thoughts are that these guys truly have the chemistry to be a legit force in the NBA, and at least Cat feels that they are the best backcourt. I think that the 2 will only get better with time, and IMO will eventually become the Biggio/Bagwell cornerstones of our franchise.

I'm not sure they are the cornerstones to the future; I think that Francis and Griffin hold that title. Mobley is the transition player for this team, though, transitioning the team from the "dominant" backcourt era to the lethal one-two punch up front and in the backcourt era.

They definately have chemistry down pat, however, and will be anice backcourt. One of the tops in the NBA? Probably, if only due to Francis. I'd say they are a good tandem, but if something better comes along, you naturally have to look at it - provided chemistry is not seriously altered.

I really think that Mobley has turned it up a notch lately. Over the past 6 games he has averaged 27.7 ppg, and has really played good on the defensive end (ala Rudy's emphasis on defense perhaps).

I'd take Andre Miller and some offal for Mobely and KT, as an example of a trade that would improve us. (I'm not speculating as to its feasibility--just want to show what would improve us and what we would have to lose, most likely.) Cat can break down defenses. Someone like Miller can read them and direct others.

And why do we have to only have one point guard? Our offense is based on everyone on the court reading the defense and making the appropriate decision. It seems to me 2 point guards on the court should give even greater control and flexibility. If many people say we should blur the barriers between forwards and even centers, then why shouldn't we do so with the guards?

I think if Francis does stay in Houston after next season then they will definitely make up one of the best backcourts in the near future. Many people say they are already one of the best backcourts in the NBA. I say keep em' around, add some more help up front and let's see what happens in another 3-5 years.

I think we should keep our options open. They are a good backcourt, but Mobley might hold us back. It's tough, because it's always nice to have a guy to hit some shots when you really aren't shooting well...but on the other end of that you don't want him to do that when the rest of the team is hitting as well. The bone-headed plays sometimes are also a setback, but lets hope he will get over that.

Mobley will not be traded though as long as Steve is here. We may one day end up regretting them being such good friends, because we may one day have a lot of options to deal Mobley for that could improve the team.
