i was playing earlier with high school kids in the neighborhood, then this dude (25 something and married) shows up (haven't see him in years). he starts talking trash to everyone including me, i was starting to get pissed. then some 16 year old shows up, and he starts joking with him about being a virgin. and the whole 2 hours there, he can't keep his mouth shut. i was so pissed that i wanted to bulldoze his ass and head butt his ass. but i held my anger and talked some trash back before i left. now i am still pissed. so how do you guys deal with these people?
i guess. but it wasn't about balling anymore. the **** he talks about was getting personal. the dude talks trash to others, including high school kids, to make himself feel better or something. he is a freaking college grad and he is talking **** about high school kids being a virgin and jacking off. i mean, WTF. some people just ain't got a ****ing brain.
His punishment is that he gets to go home and not have a good life or have sex with his wife. Obviously he's got issues. Of course, there's nothing wrong with being the bully killer, either. Knock him out the box next time.
i remember i punched a guy in the face because he threw the ball in my face AFTER i told him to get off of our court.
good idea, although i doubt that will satisfy my anger right now. he doesn't show up to play much anyways, which is a good thing.
Basketball is a high octane, and extremely ego-driven so I'd imagine everybody here has experienced something like this. Whenever people talk **** to me at the rec, which is about every game, I think of how stupid they are going to look when I cross them over and/or rip them. I'm a 5-11 long-haired, white guy, so most people I play against don't expect me to be able to do anything. I've used it to my advantage my whole life, but many times it angers those guarding me who feel highly about themselves when I hustle, scrap or play physical. It's sort of a reverse racism, but I'll deal with it. Chris Paul has always struck me of this type of person, maybe because he's always whining, maybe because of his thick frustrated eyebrows. It's like my effort is is futile in their eyes, that I'm insulting them by trying. This often happens when I'm matched with a bigger player, and I'm not afraid to try post them up or initiate contact. Many ogres have tried to fight me over my physical play and it sucks to get shoved to the ground or hard-forearm-fouled by one, but what are you going to do about it? I'm not about to make an ass out of myself and scream and yell and pump my chest like him. Just quietly prevail.
I knew a guy in college who got his head stomped in on a public court over some argument about some minor issue. He had his skull fractured, lost hearing in one ear, had some problems with one of his eyes, and had a couple of teeth knocked out. Be careful about your anger on the court. In random pick up games on a public playground you never know if the guy you are playing against is a convicted felon with violent tendencies.
he isn't random. just some indian american dude in the neighborhood. a walking stick figure. i'm not a big guy, but i bet if i bulldoze and headbutt his ass, he is gon be hurt. sigh... i can only talk about it. if i did it, i bet i would get raped in jail later. not worth it. but i do need some anger management though.
Never fight, I'll just leave if it turns into bull. The best thing about doing it in a college rec center is I can b**** the hell out of them because I'll probably never see them again since the school is so big.
I wonder how bad the trash talk during NBA games is. You'd think since they're at work they'd act professional? We know they do it, but we don't know specifically how bad the comments are. I'll bet they save all the really bad stuff out of earshot of the refs. No one calls techs on the playground.
This is why I always bring my cell with me. When the going gets rough, I find that it's most convenient for EMS to get ample notice prior to my executing of the punishment branding process. Typical scenarios involve a five man trauma team being dispatched.
well it wasn't really a fight cuz after i kicked the guy he didn't fight back. the game was too physical, call me soft but i know how to avoid contact and still defend a guy. this guy was too agressive on my younger bro and i couldn't take it. one time he was driving to the basket and my little bro was trying to get a block and this guy overextended his knee and hit my bro. was so pissed and after he landed i kicked his stomach and the idiot fell into the ground and didn't get up for almost15 minutes. the guy didn't play anymore basketball ever since that happened. some of my classmates in college saw what happened and those jerks told everybody in our class and they kept on teasing me. well, told them that i already stabbed somebody with a scissor when i was in the first grade for stealing my sandwich.
