Look, I'm trying to discuss this in an orderly manner. Please don't get offensive (although I really can't stop you). I would prefer not to make this an insult match.

Your first statement implies that you think it's racist. I'm sorry for putting words in your mouth. Really, I am sorry.

I have given a characteristic, and it is one that everyone shares. Skin color. Black people have dark skin. I don't think that's wrong to not like skin color, just as a black person might not like white skin. And there are plenty of white people that like people people and black people that like white.

If you would like another example, I will give you one, but I don't want words put into my mouth. A generalization is that black girls have big butts (in fact, I have *heard* that some desire them). Some people like them and some don't. Since this characteristic has been associated with that race, I can understand why someone who does not like big butts could say black girls generally don't do it for him. Another is that Jewish people are thought to have big noses. If someone doesn't like big noses, I could understand why they would not like Jewish people. I am not saying that either of these races always have this characteristic or that it is a bad characteristic. Some people like them and some don't.

No, he didn't use any qualifiers, but like I said, I think it was a generalization. I really can't imagine any guy that doesn't like Tyra Banks. If he does, fine. She has what the guy likes.

***I hate to say it but, Diseased Monkey has a point.

I'm not going to ignore it. I did what you asked and gave you what you wanted. I never said I didn't want a discussion. I didn't want to be involved in an insult match. :D

Anything to say or just more insults?

Not all insults mean someone doesn't like you. And I'm well aware that some (probably many) on this board don't like me. But that doesn't warrant childish insults. Adult discussions are much easier to deal with for both sides, IMO.

I'm not going to resort to your ways. It's not fun, it's not educational and it's not productive.

At this point I'd like to say "it's like talking to a brick wall", but I somehow think that a brick wall would provide better responses. So how about "it's better to be a fool and say nothing, than open your mouth and remove all doubts".

I hope I don't offend you with this princess, but everytime I read one of your posts, I can't believe you exist.

And I really don't mean that to be offensive. I meant that as a compliment.

Come on man, how can people who were not privy to your conversation give you an adequate answer.

If this guy is a friend just ask him what he meant, and accept him at his word.

Would your friend that thought it was racist view it differently if a black friend said he did not find white women attractive?

I think it is ludicrous....so what, the guy doesn't find black girls to his taste...big F>>KING deal.

That doesn't make him a racist, it just means that is his preference in women.

    SHEESH....POLITICAL CORRECTNESS is CRAP.

    DaDakota

PS. Halle Berry is the FINEST women on the face of the earth...YUMMY !!

    Dear Clueless in Houston :

That post was directed at diseased_monkey. The world does not revolve around you nor your opinion. Unless you consider yourself a simian of course...

Y'know, I saw this thread and thought: well this should be pretty cut and dried. Nothing too bad there.

    Should have known better.

Anyway, the quote -as it was and on its own merit - is not racist. I personally am more attracted to brunettes than any other. But that doesn't mean I think of others in a negative light; its just a matter of attractiveness.

The 'examples' you guys threw out are hilarious, though. :D Talk about extremes. Halle and Tyra? I'm willing to bet even this guy would make an exception in that case. :D

Some of you guys probably like blondes better....but if, say, someone was to point for example Salma Hayek your way, you might make an exception.;)

How? I have given you everything you asked for. Why won't you respond to it?

    Rokkit,

I agree with you. I get torn apart when I speak my opinion though. I thought I said the exact same thing in my first post.

Oh well, at least maybe they'll listen to you! :)

I'm being very serious. Are people not allowed to find one color of skin more attractive than another? Is it wrong? And how is it different than any other feature?

Oh yes the long history of discrimination towards blondes and brunettes argument. Who would imagine that in this day and age there are parents raising their kids to hate and discriminate against blondes?

I happen to know a black guy who says he doesnt like black girls, I myself really dont have much a preference, I just can't see how that statement could a be racist statement. Sadly, Some people will get too offended and jump on any chance to play the race card no matter what the situation.

    Timing-

It's not about hate and belittlement. It's about personal preferences and attractiveness.

By your account, black people would be able to find white people unattractive and that would be fine. But white people who find black people unattractive are racists because black people were oppressed and discriminated against.

If that's not what you think, fine. But that's what I infer from what you said.

Princess, no offense, but your opinion was fine until you ventured back into seperate personal beliefs. I mean, yes or no was fine, but sometimes you really just ask for the wars you get into.

You had to throw in a simple stereotype/generalization into your post with the Jewish example to set it off. It all went from there, particuarly since you've made your other views well know in previous threads. I really wonder how you've formed a lot of these ideals in your life, though. Sorry.:(

    :D

And thanks, Rokkit. I get criticized in one thread when I don't give examples or information and I get criticized in this one for giving examples. I don't know how to win. :(

I was trying to give an example for help or reference because I figured someone would ask for it. So, it might have all happened anyway. I wasn't trying to start anything. I thought it was harmless.

I thought this would be simple too.
