though 40075 had already died so far,a man 31 years old in the wreckage for 179 hours was saved, really be happy for him God bless you!
that's very much not necessary.... The guy you commented on was found and pulled out after 80 hours under the rubble. and 20 minutes later he died before medics could do anything. His last 20 hours were televised live on national TV. the program had to be cut off due to TV hosts crying out of control...
i make more money than the president. it ain't like in US. leaders don't make jack ****. he'll have to eat nothing but rice for the rest of his life to match the donation based on his salary.
I hope to hear of many more miracles like this come out from this horrible, horrible tragedy. God Bless them all!!
I, too, am hoping we hear of more survivors. My heart breaks with every photo and story of loss and sorrow -- sentiments that have no geographic or cultural boundaries. Indeed, God bless them all.
if you can survive this, please remember that I love you Under the rubbles, she was found dead - buried by the collapsed building. Rescuers depicted her gesture in the rubbles: kneeling down on the floor in a creeping gesture, and supporting her body with her two arms. She was pronounced dead, after rescuers testing her life signs using their hands through the narrow seams in the rubbles. Suddenly, the head of the rescue team shouted loudly to coworkers, "hurry up here". It seemed that he had seen something, as he was groping under the corpse. "Someone is there, a baby, still alive", he shouted excitedly. People cleaned up the rubbles around the woman, and found under her a baby wrapped in a small pink quilt with yellow flower patterns, a baby boy perhaps only 3-4 month old. Thanks to the protection of her mother's body, he survived the quake intact. He was sleeping quietly, when rescuers found him. His sleeping face made everyone on the scene very warm. One found a mobile phone in the baby's wrap, and a line of words left by the mother on the screen:" my dear baby, if you can survive this, please remember that I love you". Reading the message, tears coursed down rescuers' cheeks, even though they have already seen too many dead in the quake.
Americans are donating more to China than Myanmar, because of the openess of China and the acceptance of aid. It's really great that the government has decided to cover this crisis uncensored and to allow aid to flow into your country to help your people. Here is a CNN story on the donation comparisions between the 2 disasters. http://money.cnn.com/2008/05/20/news/international/china_earthquake/
I saw his posts in ymm after the earthquake and he did check out this forum frequently. Just for some unknown reason, he ceased posting here.
Thank everyone for the concerns. Thank the USA government and its people for the aids. More survivors are coming out. Although with each day passing by, less people will survive. Some survivors info can be found here: http://tv.sohu.com/s2008/life-miracle/ The longest: A woman at age 38 survived after escaping from rubbles but confined in an isolated area for 216 hrs, she drank her urine and ate earthworms and grass. She was weak but conscicous when found, suffering from multiple fractures.
Haven't had the chance to read the thread yet (so feel free to flame if this has been said already), but PokerStars has set up a China Earthquake Relief Fund where they match every donation. I know there are some members who play poker online, so hopefully somebody finds this helpful. This was actually better for me since I have more money online than in my bank account, lol. http://www.pokerstarsblog.com/2008/05/donate-to-china-earthquake-relief-fund.html
