I second. In crutial games and moments of 2007 playoffs, Juwan Howard was just....... I don't even have a word appropriate for his performance. Then in that offseason he wanted on a contender team, and the Mavs got knocked out in the first round also.

But: Luis Scola is a legitimate STAR. Two time MVP in any prestigious league speaks for itself. He should definitely be the Rox's 3rd option; 2nd if either Yao or McGrady flunk; 1st if both Yao and McGrady are injured AGAIN. For a first timer in the league he was already a threat. Imagine Luis have his break out season. And Carl Landry. And Aaron Brooks. Hope we can by some twisted fate get Derrick Rose or DJ Augustine.....

Augustine is a native Houstonian and he's extremely close to his parents, that the Rockets should definitely take advantage of.....

If we can get some good luck draft a legit SG/SF out of this year's draft then we will be set. Also can we not bring back bonzi? He's not all that bad, after watching luther head off the bench against utah...

i agree. how in the world do you give away an allstar for nothing?!...... No team in their right mind would have done that if they wanted to be better.. imo there was something underneath the table or something not right that went on when they gave gasol to the Lakers and its just sooo unfair to the rest of the NBA for it to happen. Every one is going by the rules trying to better their teams the right way and then memphis hands over an allstar for nothing.. it just makes no sence.. and on top of that like you said they want to steal one of our best pieces and get the better of the deal with us after getting raped by the lakers.. it makes no sence

It's quite obvious from Clutch's article that the Grizzlies still want Scola for Mike Miller. They are playing games with us and under no circumstances should management fall for their tricks.

I think the idea is to improve one aspect of the team without making it worse in another. I don't see how dealing Scola for Miller would make the Rockets better. I like Miller, but they'd be giving up as much as they got back. Scola's a scorer too. He brings smarts, hustle, rebounds well and he fits into the Rockets' system. Let's not forget -- he was a rookie and he got better as the year progressed, and he'll probably continue to improve next year.

Scola's the legit power forward everyone was clamoring for, and now they've got him and people want to trade him?

I can see it now: If the Rockets traded Scola to get Miller, and Landry didn't pan out, everyone would be complaining about how they're weak at power forward and need to trade for a better one. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Mobley could score and defend despite his propensity to hang on to the ball. Defense alone won't get the job done.

Mike Miller would be a great wing addition. No Doubt. Landry and Scola however turned the teams biggest weakness into an solid PF rotation. And they are both rookies. Next year I expect at least an above the average NBA performance from them combined, which leaves the Rockets strong in 3 positions, 4 depending on your regard for Battier.

Simply put, the maturation of those 2 pf's (and their contracts) are more valuable teamwise than Mike Miller.

It is no realism though I hope it happens. It will be another philanthropy as Gasol's trade.

Both of them are closer to Scola's age than Okafor or Dhoward.

    no way in hell.

Those of you think scola for miller is ok, you need to jump off the rockets wagon now.

I won't even include landry or brooks. Those 3 are our future and we usually don't have any rookies or draft picks that pans out this great.

I think Artest is a better option that miller.
miller has no defense and he can't take over game like artest or take his man to the hoop like artest.

obiously miller has less of an issue then artest.

I say go after artest and have him even do a sign and trade or opt out then come to us.

Wow, another one of these "if they only listened to me" posts. First, the Rockets were right not to move Scola in this deal. He gives the Rockets 12 and 9 for $3 million a year at a position that's hard to fill. Go see how much Wilcox makes and tell me how easy he would be to obtain. If you look at his performance I can tell you right now he's not better than Scola by a long shot. You don't trade a solid power forward for Mike freaking Miller. The idea that Miller and PJ "I'm completely washed up" Brown would get them to the conference finals is silly.

Wow, Wilcox is athletic, jumps out of the building and performs highlight-reel dunks for Sportscenter. Scola is none of that. Oh, but Scola is > > > Wilcox. I love what Luis brings to the court.

BTW - I like Miller's game, but he is not worth his contract.
BTW II - Scola's hair is good while Mikey's is criminal.

I think a big reason why the price is so high for the rockets to aquire miller is because memphis is a division rival that has intimate knowledge of how big a piece he would be to the Rox championship aspirations.

Its kinda like the yankees going after santana just so the asking price would be higher for the Red Sox.
