My sister and some friends would like to plan a trip up to Cedar Point this summer. My other sister's ex-husband and his family have went several times and they all stated they really enjoyed it (when they were around). I wanting some personal accounts from other who have been though so I figured I would ask and see if anybody on here has visited the park. Also, if you know of anywhere online that I can see reviews that would be helpful.

    I found one here: http://www.themeparkinsider.com/reviews/cedar_point/

It says that the lines for the big rides can have a 2 hour waiting period, even on slow days. Looking for others to confirm. Thanks.

yes, i went, it was the most awesome place ever if you like amusement parks. their roller coasters were ridiculous and this was several years ago and prior to the addition of a bunch of new ones that look great.

I don't remember any lines like that and I hopped on every ride in the park.

Depends on when you go as to how bad the lines are. Nice weekends its packed (much like Kings Island, which I go to more often because its closer to home) but if you go during the week there is seldom long waits.

What time of year and what day(s) did you go on? What were the wait times in lines like on average?

I went a few year ago, it was a great time. The rides are absolutely crazy. I don't remember it being that crowded when I was there, and that was in the summer.

Wow, more people have been than I thought.

For those of you that have gone a few more questions:

    1. What time of year (month) and week (day or end) did you go to the park?

    2. What was the average wait time in lines?

    3. If you've been on several occasions, when would you say is the optimal time to visit?

I went in 2000 and loved it. It's like Mecca for people who love roller coasters. My favorite was the Magnum XL-200 (regardless of innuendo), but they've added 3 since, including one that goes 120 MPH (!). I went in June, and it was crowded, but the lines move fast.

Cedar Point is better, but The Beast is the best Roller Coaster I've ever been on.

I don't remember the day of the week, but I went in either June or July and it was just about like every other amusement park you've been to as far as the lines. I don't really know what to say other than use your judgment based on prior visits to similar places. Obviously if you go in the middle of the week it will be less packed than on a weekend.

I went to Cedar Point last summer. It was a blast! We went in July on a weekday, lines weren't TOO bad (30-45 mins) except of course for the Top Thrill Dragster, which is the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world. That one was about an hour and a half wait for a 10 second ride, sounds crazy, but it was really worth it. The Magnum XL-200 was my second favorite, we rode that 3 or 4 times, very thrilling coaster. Millennium Force was also badass. We rode about 14 out of the 17 coasters they have and those three were the best.

We stayed all day, about 10 to 8, and believe me, we were worn out. It's a huge park. Wear comfortable shoes and bring food.

I been there like a few years ago during Summer. It was crazy packed.

    An awesome experience none-the-less.

Back then Millennium Force was the fastest roller coaster in America. The fastest now is Top Thrill Dragster which is in Cedar Point.

The Millennium Force was awesome. I rode it twice in one day. During the afternoon the wait was a little over 2 hours. But totally worth it. After an endless way up you finally realize you're at the top... and you look down it looks like a vertical drop....

"Standing a breathtaking 310 feet into the air, this "giga-coaster" will take thrill-seekers on an incredible 92-mph journey along 6,595 feet of track that winds its way through the center of the park, crosses a lagoon and dives onto an island."

Then we went again at night. Dark into the night - there was still a line... but only around 45 minutes.

It's crazy at night... you have no idea where you're going. When it is at its peak... you can't see anything and you just fall... crazy.

I'd go again if I could.

it's incredible. The Magnum, which was one of the tallest and best coasters in the world 15 years ago, had no line when i went about 5 years ago. Millenium Force is incredibly fast, yet a smooth ride. Top Speed Dragster was worth the wait (about two hours back then).

Cedar Point totally blows Six Flags out of the water.

    I miss Six Flags Astroworld.

its sad that six flags completely left the Houston area, not even Splashtown is six flags anymore..
