Jason Williams is a pure Point Guard with great skills. He is a more than capable shooter, 35% from the 3 point line this year. He is an outstanding passer with a good turnover/assists ratio. Can get injuried often.

This season, he made 8.8 PPG on a NBDL level team. The guy can really shoot and IMO, he's on Calderon's level (btw, he's really overrated) and he already won the cup.

He made 8 millions this season, I think it will decrease by 2 or 3 millions.

Should the Rockets go for him?

The unlikely possibility of Francis making a significant comeback interests me much more than signing somebody like White Chocolate would.

knees are gone, and Rafer is far greater at this stage of their careers.

First inclination was that this post was sarcasm, but who knows really.

Bullcrap. Jason Williams ain't on the NBDL if he is making 8 million a year. Only rookies and 2nd year players and free agents can go to the NBDl.

He is a downgrade from Rafer. I would take him as a backup to Rafer (unless Brooks improves over the summer which is likely) but not for more than $3 million. No more old legs with a streaky jumper unless it is cheap. Let's keep the youth movement going on this team.

He was saying the Heats this year were a NBDL level team, not that Williams played for any...

Thank you. Well, he's got a good point about the Heat being an NBDL level team. I can't argue with that. :)

if he's bought out (unlikely) then i'd be interested in him as a backup to rafer.

no way could the rockets trade for an $8M expiring contract w/o giving up something good.

if not 100% sure whether the option is better than Rafer Alston, we should keep Alston as a starter.

    He IS Rafer Alston.

We need someone off the bench who can do whatever Alston can't do. I.E. efficient scoring and defense. Someone like a young Bobby Jackson.

I have high hopes for Aaron Brooks personally.

I dont know whats dumber, you thinking J-Will will command 6Mill annually, or thinking hes actually on Calderon's level (By the way hes really underrated)
