There are Seton Hall fans ripping up Eddie on the Pirate's forum. They have all been trashing him primarily for selfishness, and saying Eddie will never be a star because of his attitude. Here are a few posts.

    This is bogus...

Eddie is a fantastic player, and I'm sure the fans loved his output. But he also got into a fight with teammates in Houston's locker room. He gets into fights everywhere he goes...

Expelled from high school for fighting, ripped SHU's team apart so he could get the ball and up his own stats, and the Rockets locker room.

He probably will be a great talent one day, but mark my words, his attitude will prevent him from being what he could be...and there will come a time when every sports fan looks back and says..."What a career Eddie Griffin could have had!"

Eddie got in a fight in the Rocket's locker room? Did I miss something?

Eddie came to SHU to do one thing showcase for the scouts. He did just that and in the process was freshman of the year = BIG BUCKS. If He chucked it all right now he'd still be a millionare. Can anyone else here say that? I guess that's the problem so many of you have with Eddie.

    Hmmm...

It's always about how many points he can score. He's a great talent that has a problem fitting into a team concept. The concept that by playing as a team, the sum total is greater than the individual parts is absent from his brain.

Man, Eddie really doesn't seem like that!

How long will it be until Eddie punches Steve Francis for not getting him enough looks?

    Ouch.

Have you seen the Rockets record. W 17 L 34.

Thats an Eddie Griffin team for you. I've said this before, I don't care what his stats are his team s L O S E. The Rockets stink, SHU lost , and his HS got their butts kicked by St Joes in the Philly catholic league. The guy has never been and never will be a WINNER.

OK so he's rich and I never made a million$$, but I think the point is what kind of basketball player he is.

Oh yeah, it's Eddie's fault we're losing.

Good teams play through injuries. It's too bad the Rockets rely so much on Francis because a good TEAM would have played fine with Moochie Norris at point guard. Obviously the Rockets are just a bunch of individuals who can't play as a team. Rudy T. is probably gone soon. Griffin will be OK in the NBA but I certainly don't miss him here at SHU.

No...for real, y'all. Has Eddie gotten in a fight since he joined the Rockets? :( Or is this idiot just delusional?

I was just thinking about this last night ...

The buzz was going around about his bad attitude the week before draft night, and so he slipped down to #7. I am SO glad that went around, since none of it seems to apply, or for us to be worried about. The Rockets seriously investigated into what everyone's fears were, and came away with a totally different opinion.

If this hadn't been floated around, he probably would have gone #1, and we'd never have been able to get him.

Thank God for that fight with his teammates... For one time, thanks for gossip...

Sounds like a bunch of BS to me. Something would've been said if Eddie got into something in the locker room, or at least he would've been punished. He definitely wouldn't be playing very many minutes.

Sounds like a bunch of bitter fans to me...kind of like the way we all were with Quitten, except that Eddie actually is good and could've meant something to the team this year. Something tells me there is more to that punch he threw...it looks like you'd really have to do something bad to him to get him to hit you in the face.

Seriously, that rumor ends up helping the Rockets so much. Griffin is a fanchise player. Just like the other fanchise guy on the Rockets.

No doubt that Griffin should have been a top 3 pick this year.

    Let's all thank the RUMORS.

The idiot is delusional. The guy has been nothing but a perfect teammate and student of the game since he has gotten here. The only complaint players have is that they can't get him to say more than a few words at a time. :)

If Eddie was to punch another Rocket, then it would of already happened in the first 1/4 of the season. Nobody was passing him the ball, and some IDIOTS (no names mentioned  ) were even waiving him off on obvious mis-matches.

Does anybody remember that first Summer League game. When DUMB***ASSS Coach benched him for picking up early fouls (like in the first few minutes), in a game that you could not fouled out of.

He has showed alot of anger control if you ask me.

I think Eddie can survive the emotions of the NBA>

I'm assuming the stuff about his fight in HS, and at Seton Hall are true. There is no point in arguing that he doesn't have it in him to throw a punch in frustration. The fact that Eddie doesn't talk much makes me think that he might be a little bit of a pressure cooker that can explode every once in a while.

That doesn't mean that he can't be a pressure cooker AND an all star AND a good teammate.

People don't usually make huge changes to their personality types, but they do grow up. Fact is, we haven't heard a peep about Eddie not getting along with his teammates on or off the court. Because of the losses, stress, and disappointment the team has experienced this year, I would think that something bad would have already happened if there was going to be a problem.

Maybe Eddie learned from his past mistakes, maybe he gets along with his teammates really well and likes Houston, maybe he was in horrible situations in the past that we don't understand and will never occur in his current environment. Whatever the reasons are, Eddie seems fine and headed for a great career.

Eddie is not dumb enough to get into a fight with any of his Rocket teammates. He was probably bigger then most of his teammates at Seton Hall. All other Rocket players would probably be able to kick Griffins ass if he hit any of em.

That's my theory. If nothing else it would probably be stopped before things escalate.

I bet even Moochie can whoop up on Eddie! :D

The only one Eddie could probably take would be poor Tierre Brown.

Eddie is only 19 years old. I think people put WAY too much stock in "reputations" for teenagers. It's ridiculous that some people (not here) think he can't change.

This isn't a situation where he's some 35 year old player who has had a bad rep for 15 years.

This whole black cloud of Eddie is less than 2 years old. The fight against his HS teammate (who was apparently bigger than him) was during lunch at his HS in Mar/April/May of 2000.

And that Ty Shine thing was sometime a year ago.

    This isn't a lifelong problem.

We'll find out if it will be or not.
