Wesley was an effective point guard before we got him. When he was younger and played for Charlotte Hornets -he would light us up. We had horrible point guards then like Matt Maloney.

Wesley was too slow and too small to matchup with Western point guard by the time we got him. He had 1/2 effective season for us starting in Jan '05 - those few months were special for this team - for what Sura brought to the point guard position and helping T-Mac run that offense.

David Wesley was a miserable liability for this team after May ' o5- when that season was over.....

Dude, imagine 04-05 backcourt of Sura, Jon, and Wesley combined with the 07-08 frontcourt, along with T-mac and Yao:

    PG: Sura, Alston
    SG: T-mac, Wesley, Jon
    SF: Battier, Jon
    PF: Scola, Landry, Hayes
    C: Yao, Deke

Championship contender imo. the backcourt is just decent enough to survive in the west.

I miss Wesley. I miss that whole 2005 team. That was just a fun team.Add maybe Scola to that team..or any power forward for that series against the Mavs and we would have won.

I really miss Jon Barry and Bob Sura too.

Aw yah man! Jon Barry on a fast break = pull up 3 pointer, nailed it every time. I loved him with Bobby Sura and the whole 3 finger shake after a 3 pointer. David Wesley...not so much he was aight I guess

Yeah I honestly thought that was our best chance to get to the finals or second round. Mcgrady felt like he was working for a better organization than Orlando. We had a good rotation on the wings. If the guys did not break down we would have gone the distance. Heck even Mutumbo was a different man that time.

    Who misses David Wesley?

    1. Opposing teams. He sucked.

    2. The bottom of the backboard. It never saw any action after Wesley left.

Do I miss Wesley? Yes, I still remember his nickname on the other BBS that I was on before joined ClutchFans.net - David "One Shot" Wesley, meaning no matter how many shots he attempted in a game, he would only make one.
