Hakeem was unstoppable for the better part of a decade. Hakeem has two rings. Hakeem is the all time league leader in blocked shots. MVP The list goes on and on. It's really not even a fair comparison for T-Mac.
I remember a time when athletes entered their prime at age 30+. Now at age 30, they are considered washed up or a shell of their former selves. why is that? Is the corruption, in the AA union, wearing down our future athletes? And I think comparing dream to tmac is not fair. maybe to calvin murphy or drexler?
sorry but...whoever responded tmac obviously doesnt understand that you can't build a franchise around HIM. with dream, you could, and we did. His sophomore year we go to the finals. tmac hasn't even advanced yet. Tmac knew damn well in orlando, he couldn't do it by himself. He demanded a trade and wanted to play with YAO. hmmm, i think this poll would be better suited if it was more balanced like drexler or tmac. this is by far going to be a lopsided poll.
how about who would take more shot attempts in a 4th quarter of a playoff game and make them? Maxwell or Tmac
Which is why we got out of the first round that year? oh wait... I like T-Mac and think he's great, but come on - to put him in the same leauge as Hakeem just doesn't make any sense...
hakeem. tmac may have been a deadlier offensive weapon in his prime, but like i said more than a thousand times on this board, hakeem was arguably the best 2-way player the game has ever seen. tmac was never a dominant defensive player in his prime. hakeem was.
I think Dream offensively was more deadly. He has his own offensive signature move.. the DreamShake what's tmac's signature move?
Hakeem. How can anyone believe that T-Mac, Drexler, Horry, Kenny Smith, Otis Thorpe would be better than Hakeem, Drexler, Horry, Kenny Smith, and Otis Thorpe? You put Hakeem on the Orlando Magic, and they make it to the 2nd round in the east.
In his prime.... T-Max was unstoppable until he gets a knee injury, a back spasm, a sore shoulder, and lost his motivation and starts tanking. T-mac was unstoppable until the first round. In his prime... Hakeem was unstoppable. Shaq, David Robinson, Patrick Ewing. He would wrestle them and get bruised and beat up in the paint. The paint in the 90s was brutal, the refs let Hakeem really have it. Hakeem was unstoppable in the playoffs. The Dream Shake could not be defended by single coverage. When they tried to double and triple, he screwed the enemy with a timely pass for a 3pter. He had eyes behind his head, nerves of steel, and scars all over his arms.
