This is a shot in the dark, but are there any good, professional drummers there in the Houston area that is available to play a gig tomorrow from about 6:00 until 10:00.

A buddy of mine has a party out in Fulshear (southwest of Katy) in his backyard. I do a piano bar show (similar to Howl at the Moon) and my drummer backed out on me the last minute. I'm in Austin, and it's hard for me to ask one of the drummers that I know to go down to Houston for what's not a high paying gig. I'm playing for tips because it's a buddy of mine and I'm mostly going for the party, but I can pay a drummer $125. It's super laid back and a fun party.

I play all kinds of music but mostly songs that most people know so they can sing along. Typical songs are Brown-eyed Girl, Margaritaville, Great Balls of Fire, etc. Lot's of 80's like Bon Jovi and Journey. Basic country like Friends in Low Places and Family Tradition.

I'll be checking this thread or you can send me an e-mail if you're interested or you know someone that might fit.

I'm a piano player at Pete's Dueling Piano bar here in Austin, so if you've ever been there or Howl at the Moon then that's the kind of show that I do.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm pretty good at the Rockband drums, hit me up if you can't get anyone else.

    Here's a shot in the dark: imadrummer2k

Seriously though, he's good and I'm pretty sure the band he's in that I play with on occasion isn't playing this weekend.

Makes me wish I could play drums for more than 15 minutes without passing out. Sweet gig for someone - good luck.

Aw, man. Normally this is something I would LOVE to do, but since this is my first weekend off since February, I've already made plans with the wife and she would hang me out to dry if I cancelled them now. Sorry, but I'm sure you understand... :)

Keep me in your contact list though. Any off-weekend besides this one and I would do it in a heartbeat. Sounds like fun. BTW, the email address I have with this bbs is my work one, so I won't see your message until Monday.

I think there are several other drummers on this site, although I'm not sure if they're in Houston or not. I'm pretty sure Jeff has lots of Houston contacts...maybe send him a message and see if he can help you out.

I completely understand. I rarely get weekend nights off and when I do, there's no way that my wife would let me pick something up. It's too bad, I was kind of looking forward to playing with a Clutchcity member.

At this point I'll probably do the gig without drums, but my buddy will probably be disappointed.

I'll still be checking the thread throughout the night.

If all else fails, try looking on craigslist. There are always a few drummers looking for gigs on there.

I just e-mailed a guy from craigslist. Maybe that will work out.
