I don't know if anyone else watches this show, but it was not listed among shows coming back to CBS in the fall. But the fans are still hoping to keep it alive. CBS has a demographic phone poll that they are doing if anyone that watches it wants to call it. The poll ends at 6 pm Eastern.
That was the rumor a couple days ago (and halted the tearing apart of the sets)... but the CW had sold an entire night of programming to MRC (Media Rights Corp or something like that) and they were the ones considering picking it up. They decided to go strictly with their own original programming in the slot as Moonlight is produced by WB.
You should. Buffy and Angel are both great shows and a lot of the qualities that make Firefly shine are found in both. It's a shame Firefly never got to have the drawn out story arcs that Buffy and Angel had because Joss is a great storyteller and knows how to build up the drama, esp in that format. Serenity is kind of just an outline of what one of his seasons would be like, but all smooshed together with the lack of any buildup whatsoever.
No kidding. Think of how (even more than it was) epic Firefly would have been if given 5 or 6 seasons. I hate that Angel & Buffy got labeled by many as "Chick Shows." If you believe that, you're an assuming idiot. Joss Whedon is a master storyteller. Way too talented to have no series on the tube right now.
Dollhouse... coming to Fox this fall (not only that.. but it will be paired up with a new JJ Abrams show the same night - am I loving that or what???) I plan on watching Buffy and Angel at some point, I have the entire series of both - between my brother and cousin they have all the seasons of each. Probably tackle one of them during the summer hiatus.
I have no idea what Dollhouse is about, but if Whedon is attatched to it, I am in. Whats this about a new JJ Abrams series? I will probaly be in for that as well. I was one of the handful of people that really enjoyed Cloverfield. Anxious to see if he pulls off Stephen King's Dark Tower. But he hasnt finished the first draft for that, so it will be awhile yet...and I'd be surprised if anyone on this board has even heard of it.
http://www.dollverse.com/ Joss Whedon's upcoming new series Dollhouse, starring Eliza Dushku (Faith) as Echo--Amy Acker (Fred) and Zoic Studios (CGI for Firefly, BSG) also on board--just released its first trailer: http://www.dollverse.com/trailer well that's the only one I can find and it's down at the moment.. Fox killed all the mirrors The new JJ show is called Fringe.. here's a bit on it. http://www.tvweek.com/blogs/blink/2008/05/fringe_factor.php
Thanks, Hayes. I was already checking out the Wiki pages on them, but these seem way better. Hope Whedon knows what he is doing by getting into bed with FOX again after what they did to him with Firefly...
NP. I hope so too. Though it sounds like there are new execs at Fox since Firefly and they are completely on board with whatever he's doing. Let's hope that they (both his and JJ's) can stick around.
we tivo moonlight, but don't rush to watch it or anything. I think we had a few weeks saved up until recently, actually. which means, i like it enough to tivo, but won't be pissed if it is canceled.
I enjoy it. It was getting better with each episode. The main girl wasn't exactly impressive (acting wise) until the later episodes... she seems to be getting better with each episode. Of course it could be that I was just looking past it. Plot wise it was getting better as the season went along. But the show was recast twice, had a bunch of internal problems and all kinds of other things.. so it was amazing that they created the product that we did get. The last 5 episodes were leaps better than the first 5. The main actor, Alex O'loughlin is really good. I was dvr'ing it during the Rockets season, but have been watching live the last few.
Some cool stuff about Fringe and Dollhouse: Whedon's Dollhouse paired with 24 New clips of Frings & Dollhouse Only 5 minutes of commercials per episode? and also the one sheet teaser for the show. Looks like FOX is at least giving them good time slots to succeed. Not the dreaded Friday Night that kills so many shows with potential.
Wow. I've been following whedon's verse in comic books(xmen, buffy, angel, and firefly, all of them quite good btw), but had no idea about this new show. That just made me and my wife's day. As far as moonlight, I might get around to watching it eventually, but unlikely if it gets canceled. Funny as it may sound, the vampire genre isn't really my bag, but only because it's so full of cliche, esp the vampire looking for redemption or vampire cop jazz. That's probably the biggest reason why it took me so long to get to Buffy and Angel.
i love the show. the main girl is so hot. something about her eyes... well, pretty much everything about her is hot. i hope the show continues.
