Anyone else going to try this out? I've been following it's development for about two years, and it looks like it's going to be fantastic. It's also the most popular/most anticipated game on mmorpg.com It's got some cool features like interactive battle (you have to control where you swing, etc, not just click), city building, and voice acting. I pre-ordered yesterday. You get a three-day 'head start' on Saturday if you pay $5 extra, which in turn counts for 10 days of subscription. I'm playing with the idea of taking back the regular pre-order and buying the collectors edition instead, which gives you a few more goodies in-game. It's also supposed to come out on the 360 in September. Gamespy gamer impressions A few screenshots:
It's possible that this game will suck, but not due to sales. It's the top selling PC game right now.
Screens look pretty bad. Not my kind of game I don't think. mmorpg.com is my life though, so if they say it's going to be good . . . .
oh we all know how MMORPG sales work, soon all the kiddies will jump back onto the WoW wagon i do want to try AoC, however, no time
The people I've heard that have done open beta, haven't enjoyed the game that much. I'm curious, but will hold off. I just don't have that much time. I've tried WoW, but would never chose that one over Vanguard SoH.
if i get it for 360, do i still have to pay the monthly fee to pay it, or is having xbox live service the same thing
I remember liking the Arnold movies. The glory days of stop motion animation! Were those based on a cartoon or comic? Any new movies on the horizon? I think Arnold could still do it after he finishes his term. It's not like there weren't OLD barbarians.
I played in the Open Beta... and going into it I was 90% certain I was going to preorder. Game just didn't seem very fun. It ran fine on my machine, but I read too many complaints in the chat to think it would have a good chance at a smooth release. Few months from now I might give it a shot, but no reason to jump in at the start. If the game is good, there will be new servers.
Probably depends on what the publisher decides. I think FFXI for the 360 had a monthly subscription, so that might be the "norm." Note that you could play it without having a XBL Gold account. Maybe they already commented on this (doubt it though since the 360 version is a ways off), but I don't particularly care to look it up.
