I like how Kwame = war. Good God, yall.

That video did a great job showing why you would never want to try him out as a primary offensive option.

Because Kwame can actually give you 15 mpg as an end of the rotation guy - Woods can't. Woods is a trainwreck, and doesn't have near enough strength to hold his own, even if this was a Girl Scout League.

Here's why Kwame isn't such a horrible idea. This year, we got crushed once Deke and Scola were our only center options, mainly because Hayes, Landy, and Harris are all 6-6 smurfs. Having 6-11 Kwame at the back of the frontcourt rotation would have made a difference. Unlike Woods, he would have merited court time, and could have helped, if only marginally.

He's not a big help, but he can help. We need another body with size behind Yao.

As much as we all like to make fun of Kwame the Historic Bust, he may be worth a couple of million as a back-up for Yao. Yes he sucks major gluteus considering he was a first-pick-over-all, but I think he can contribute solidly playing 15 min per game.

Kwame has some attributes like size and athleticism that we could use. However, scouting reports all indicate he has "hands of stone." On the whole, I'd rather go for DeSagana Diop or Chris Mihm if we go looking for a replacement for Deke.

Kwame doesn't suck; he just sucks majorly for a 1st pick 1st rounder.

If he sings for cheap, like half-3/4 MLE (which is NOT gonna happen, unless he is smart enough to sign a sport offer) and play Yao backup, he will always be a failure in NBA

I don't know if his singing is that melodic, but half the MLE would be attractive for us and perhaps worthwhile for him, knowing he would get a big shoe (no pun intended) contract from China like the other Rockets.

Kwame's "hands of stone" cannot possibly be worse than Deke's.

Don't waste a single dollar on this man, he's useless... @ Wizards, Lakers, you name it.... suppose to be your NO.1 Pick....

funny thing is, if he was the 15th pick or something, he probably would've turned out a lot better. Being the 1st overall pick gave him too much burden and pressure to meet people's expectations.

He's terrible even for a 29th pick. Honestly, Jackie Butler was better and look what happened with him. Question for all of those folks hitting the panic button: If this guy who was a no. 1 pick cannot play for 3 other teams, what leads you - any of you - to believe that he could somehow magically start playing meaningful basketball here?

    Here's what I'm saying:
    a) who cares that he was a #1 pick? How does that affect his worth as a player 7 years later? Look at Joe Smith - he's servicable, regardless of the fact that he's a crummy #1 pick.

    b) why would you say he "[could] not play for 3 other teams" when he's averaged 7 and 6 for his career? It's not much, but those are actually better than Robert Horry's career numbers.
His last year as a Wizard he averaged 11 and 7 on 49% shooting and 30 mpg.
His last full year with the Lakers he averaged 8 and 6 with 59% shooting.
He didn't play with Memphis because they weren't ever interested in him as a player and likely never saw him as being more than an expiring deal.

YES - Kwame Brown is a joke, but that's mainly because he was a top pick.
YES - you don't want this guy as a starter
YES - you don't want to run plays for him

But as a guy with enough size to play both the 4 and 5, who isn't a stiff and can reasonably rebound, defend, and chip in some put backs and weakside layups, he actually is worth looking at. $2 million as extra insurance for Yao and a 8th or 9th man...it's not as stupid as several of you think.

    well said.

i say it again - if we can sigh a one- or two-year deal @ 1-1.5 per, he'd be a decent backup to have.

Im just curious what is Kwame's draft position in mock drafts that year. Is he really that high in mock drafts or it is just MJ who likes him
