yeah collins, van gundy, and hubie brown(b/c hubie coached him in memphis) are all huge for battier's reputation. they need to keep up the good praise for him
Most writers had him on the first team at the shooting guard spot, dunno why but he'll probably make 1st team at shooting guard.
Shooting guard? That position belongs to Kobe even kobe played average defense the whole season he will still won the 1st defence team. If Shane was put on shooting guard spot, no chance he will make it!
Technically he will be considered an F not a G. There are two F spots on each team (duh). Writers refer to Battier as a G because he typically guards the opposing teams SG while McGrady takes the SF.
Well, <a href="http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/52478/20080512/kg_and_kobe_highlight_all_defensive_team/">he made 2nd team</a> ...
I respect CP3 and his abilities but common...his bandwagon is overflowed with r****ds who watch just one game and think he is the best ever!
Haha, Bruce Bowen above Shane. I so called it. Kobe would have to be retired for 3 years for him to stop being voted on the first team. The Defensive teams are the biggest joke of all the awards by far.
Actually, only defensive teams are voted by coaches, but all other awards are voted by media. I guess, Bowen got more votes because he can defend pg, but Battier can't.
I just heard this on 610. Absolutely ridiculous, but not surprising. How is it possible to come in 3rd for DPOY, but not make the 1st team? Man, what a joke. I know Houston sports tend to be overlooked in general, but jeez...
If Bowen can defend point guards so well, he would be guarding CP3 right now. And Kobe doesn't even defend all the time
Bowen was on Nash. Actually, he was on CP3 in the first two games. But no spur can stop Peja, he switches to defend Peja now.
