I don't think it is consistent. For one thing, if the doctor was dead on the island before he was killed on the boat, then the rocket should've landed on the island before it was fired from the boat.
The show isn't being cut short, just this season. ABC officially announced they will be making up those hours they missed due to the strike over the final two seasons.
I was just reading this on e online. It was supposed to go 16-16-16 for the last three years. This season only ends up being 14.. so they are going to do 14-17-17 http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b13...m_medium=rssfeeds&utm_campaign=rss_topstories
The back pack had alot of stuff beyond just the SAT phone so . .. one hopes they read and see what else was in there When did Keame find out about the Doctor's throat being slit? Rocket River
Okay Seriously, WTF? Isn't Christian Shepherd Dead? How can you move an Island? What does that mean? ...And where is the black guy from. I don't remember. I was so confused by this episode.
Yes, he's dead. I have no idea.. I would imagine that we will find out. It probably has something to do with co-ordinates because if you recall the whole island used to be masked in electro magnetic fields. If you can manipulate that can't you manipulate where the island is known to be? It means she left Aaron and disappeared, we haven't seen her death, all we have seen is her missing when Sawyer wakes up. She left on her own according to Miles, so we don't know if he killed her (which I doubt, he doesn't seem to have the gumption to kill someone) or if she just followed "someone" (maybe her father - since she was with him in the cabin) into the jungle. I don't think this is going to be resolved for a while. But I refuse to believe anyone on this show is dead unless we see them dead. Here's the answer to this one.. wikipedia is your friend... here's the link in case you have other characters that confuse you So was my mom. I keep telling her just to watch that if she tries to remembers stuff from older episodes its easier to follow whats going on.
Hello Everyone, Petravark here. I have a pretty interesting, and long winded theory of whats going on based on this last episode, the Locke flashback. First let me address some things before I begin the idea I have. 1. Richard Alpert is not immortal...I believe he seems immortal but based on my current theory, he is not immortal just uses the "island" special properties to move through time, much like Ben did in the last episode. 2. I believe that Jack will never find out (just based on flash-presents we have seen so far) that Aaron is his nephew and that Claire is his sister. 3. Abbadon and Widmore are the two "immortals" IMHO. I think Widmore was the captain of the Blackrock....AKA "Alivar Hanso" which is why he is obsessed with finding the island again...one that he crashed on. Abbadon I think was a former slave on the ship...and both he and Widmore were kicked out by some force...I think the island kicked them off for different reasons and they are both using each other to find a way back. I get this because of what Widmore said to Ben "I Made you" in the episode previous. 4. Aaron is the next "chosen" one of the Island. The parallels between his birth and Locke and Bens are pretty easy to see. What tipped me off was the sort of chaos that surrounded each birth. Locke's mom was injured and forced labor. Bens mom was dying and Claire birthed him in hazard surroundings as well. Ben and Locke also were named almost instantly...like their names were destined by something bigger than them. Time to get into my theory as to why the TIME seems to be off and why Alpert and Ben can travel to-and through, time. Think of the Island as a giant compass, or pie if its easier to imagine. Each Degree, or slice, is a time period previous, present, and forward. Depending on what "degree" you pass through to come out of and into the island will put you at a different time. Alpert could have been in 2002 but exited the island at the degree of 1950-something around the time of Lockes Birth, and then left and reentered in a time that was when Ben was a child...this theory can also explain a younger, Dharma-Initiative wearing Ben going to Tunisia and wondering if he had the year right. But this also explains why the "rocket" landed on the island hours behind schedule but the doctor arrived in the future. Whatever "degree" or "slice" the Rocket entered, it was shot from the future and came into the past. But when the doctor ran ashore the body was from the past and entered the future. Almost behind, or ahead, of destiny. So essentially it boils down to whatever degree, or slice, you enter and exit the Island on...you will be in a different time. Maybe the degree Faraday found was the hole into the present . My theory onto what Locke meant when he said "move the island" was to seemingly SHIFT the time degrees a different way...so that when the people come to the island through a hole they might enter when the island was barren. Just my take, feel free to blow it up completely!
That's the best explanation I have heard so far. We also have the time experiments that Faraday was working on with the mouse and the whole issue of going through the "pies" as you are suggesting in the wrong way. Causing Desmond's issues and Fisher Stevens (sorry I can't remember the characters name - but he was the communications guy on the ship) I think if Jack does find out, it will be very near the end, when he is forced to confront his father's ghost on the island. Cause we all know that the Oceanic Six are going to come back to the Island. They have to!!
In the episode with the Kate-Jack future-flash.. when jack and kate are arguing.. Jack says "Im more related to him [aaron] than you are!" When he said that.. i was assuming that he found out about Claire being his half-sister
Except that he said "You're not even related to him", which certainly implies that Jack is but leaves the door open to the idea that he never finds out.
I like your theories, Petravark...except that from what we can tell, the only way anyone has been able to leave the island is when they on the coordinates for the "present" that you mentioned. I think it was Desmond (or perhaps someone else) who tried to get off the island and always ended up back there. Doesn't seem consistent. Also, did anyone else think that Richard Alpert was Locke's father? They make certain to mention that the father of Locke was twice the age of the young girl who had him. When the grandmother looks up and sees Alpert, she seems to have a slight moment of recognition. She then tells the nurse that he is nobody...but she might have just said that so she could try to keep him away from the baby. If true...it makes me wonder if Alpert is somehow not human...or perhaps superhuman. The agelessness, the way he seems to know what is going on when even Ben doesn't always have the answers...his search to find the next "chosen one". I'm suddenly thinking this guy is a HUGE key to the entire puzzle, maybe the biggest. I don't know...but it's going to SUCK when the finale happens and we have to go another 9 months without Lost.
Man it gets better with every episode. I love how they are working backwards and forwards withing each show. Okay I will sound like an idiot but I thought Ben was going to break out the Bruce Lee moves he has on those guys. Jack must have wanted to vomit when he found out Claire was his sister. He must have got tied of all the Losties telling him how they wanted to bone her. I love how random Losties still exist on the Island. I look forward to seeing the demise of the leader of the army guys. I hope he gets shot int he ass and after he goes , "My ass!" Ge gets shot in the face, neck or abdomen.
It looks as if it is getting to that point that flashbacks/flashforwards will be a thing of the past and the last two seasons will be just the present time. Anyone else going to be pissed if Jin, Michael, and Desmond all get killed at the same time by the C4? That would be assanine to off that many characters...
Couple of things I noticed: The Oceanic 6 get back and there's nobody there for Kate. Because of the fake crash, Jack had to tell the reporters about the plane filling up with water when he actually landed in the jungle. Still wondering who the other 2 are and why they decided 2 others survived the crash but died later on. I thought they would say Jin was one but Sun said he wasn't. Hurley still eats at Mr. Clucks. Claire's mother told Jack "You were in the air for 6 hours, just a few feet apart and you didn't know she was your sister" while she has been at the wake and didn't know Aaron was her grandson. Sun shows her badass side, buying controlling stake in her fathers company. After last night, I am starting to wonder if Jin actually is dead. For one thing, there was Sun's reaction and blaming her father for Jin's death. The other is that Jin and other random losties, that we know don't get off the island, actually made it to the freighter. I'm eager to see how it plays out. If they still somehow get left behind or if they die, possibly due to all the explosives on the ship.
There was a photo of the Oceanic 6 arriving on an island per their rescue. However, I don't think they showed what they were exiting from when they walked onto the beach. I take it maybe they were in that small raft with the engine used to shuttle survivors to the freighter? Or, floated in on another raft? They looked pretty clean so it kind of shoots holes in their story that they had life jackets and seat cushions they clung to while the current carried them in. Or, maybe they were picked up and brought ashore? Or, the photo was just totally staged to sell the rescue story....which would imply Oceanic Airlines is involved in a cover-up of what really happened? It kind of leaves one to guess that maybe the freighter does explode and these 6 were the only survivors. Of course, that begs the question of what happened to the people on the island. I think the assumption is that maybe the island did get moved and they were not all killed. I dunno...yet again we have some resolution which brings up more questions.
I think we all need to come to grips with the fact that this is how this show is ALWAYS going to be. I can almost guarantee you that they are not going to tie this show up in its finale with a neat bow so the viewer can say, "ahhh..that's what that was about!!" I'd be shocked if they did. I think they'd be throwing away their own artistic integrity if they did, because the very premise of the show is to have you think further...the characters are doing this in their own way and the writers are bringing the viewers along for the ride.
That was an awesome episode: Sun Spoiler I think that since she bought the controlling stake in her dad's company, she's going to go after Whitmore next. She said that her dad was one of two people responsible for Jin's "death" and I thought it could be someone "smaller" (like Michael or even Desmond). But I think in order to take down the 2nd guy, she has to do it on a bigger scale...so I think it's Whitmore or even Ben (since he's pretty elusive) Hurley Now we know why he pretty much committed himself...again. Jack I don't know about anyone else, but the way the writers told his story POST-rescue is a thing of beauty. It's a true fall from grace and it was infinitely better that they started his flashforward telling us what happens to him (going crazy and feeling guilt) at the beginning. It's been great writing Sayid His wife's hot Can't wait for the finale!
