Pole, I am WIDE AWAKE my friend! I see what is going on with Hakeem as well as anyone. But I am a firm believer in the road Rudy has travelled with the situation. That is my point. I just believe in the loyalty he has shown to the aging star.

No Respect at all, If for no other reasons Dream deserves to play out his contract for the simple fact that he "WAS" Dream. Akeem and later Hakeem gave us so many fond memories of individual dominance that we will PROBABLY never witness again on our own team. Hell who do we have thats better than Dream? Cato? PIG????? Im sorry Dream at the age of 50 will still be better than them two. If Hakeem were jacking up shots then that would be different, but the guy is only playing 25 mpg and helps the team in ways Pig and Cato, won't, don't, or can't.

I really think that Hakeem is still one of the best players in the NBA. Even if he started playing like Luc Longley I would still say the same. Now there are reasons he is not scoring or rebounding very much and why all his numbers are down. First of all, when he gets back fully from injury he will play a lot better. Secondly when he plays he gives his teammates a chance to play even though he knows they suck. Who would you put on the post Hakeem or PIG. Well the rockets are choosing Pig and that is why Hakeems numbers are down. There are no more plays for him and there needs to be. He shoots a better percentage than any other rocket. I would much rather pass the ball into Hakeem every single time down the court, even if he cant catch his breath, than have any other rocket shoot a really stupid shot like they always do. Face it, without Hakeem the rockets are the worst team in the league. We have got no one who can play.
I wont be able to watch the rockets after next year when Hakeem leaves.

If Dream was a horse we would have ridden him to back to back NBA titles... "huh?... right!"
Oh and a side note to DreamStillKills: With the backcourt scoring over 80 points tonight your point about the Rockets not having anyone besides Dream who can play just doesn't hold water.

After watching the game tonite I can see were Dream deserves a liitle criticism.

Dream almost cost us this game during the third quarter when he came limping down on offense and park his rear on the left block countless times. The team moulds in to the "Dead Man Walking" stagnant offense with Dream on the court.

Matt Bullard sets more menacing picks than Dream, Geez.

With that being said Hakeem seems like wonderful human being, and thanks for the wonderful memories, but get your ass out of the left block. [IMG]

I just can't believe how much disrespect I see towards Hakeem every time I go to the website. He is not as good as he once was but he is still a damn good player and yeah he pisses me off sometimes but I am not going to come out and say retire this year, retire now. Dream, retire when you want, you will always make this team better. The longer you stay the longer I stay a Rocket fan.

I apologize in advance for keeping this thread alive but I cannot let this one just slip by...
DreamStillKills: "The longer you (Dream) stay the longer I stay a Rocket fan."
I hope you didn't mean that. Because if you did well then guess what pal, if you stop being a Rockets fan when Hakeem retires, you were never a Rockets fan to begin with, you were a Hakeem Olajuwon fan. It may seem like semantics to you, but to me it makes you fair weather. Fair weather fans make me ill. That is what is wrong with Houston "fans".
Don't get me wrong, I respect Hakeem and it saddens me to see him in a tough time physically, but if we traded him I would still be a Rockets fan, unlike you. I guess if we traded Hakeem to Toronto you are suddenly a Raptors fan, right? Better just watch your old tapes of Hakeem in his prime because you are never going to be happy as a Rockets fan again.

That's right I am not a Houston Rocket fan, but I am the biggest Hakeem Olajuwon fan you will ever find. And I will tell you another thing, it was Hakeem who two championships for Houston and if you doubt that then you're just plain stupid. Being a Rockets fan without Hakeem is like being a Clipper fan so in 2001-2002, "GO BLAZERS".

So I guess Hakeem SINGLE HANDEDLY beat the Knicks in seven games and swept the Magic the following year playing ONE against FIVE. Have you ever even seen the game of basketball played? The other guys on the team shouldn't have even suited up, is that what you are saying? And I'm the stupid one? I think ROCKETS fans will back me up on this one. Some advice fo' free: check yourself, before you wreck yourself.

mulder...time to seal away his comments into an X-file and forget about him.

..."not a rockets fan"....bwah. Time to conjur up the phantom Duke for a lethal incantation on that blazer fan.

it kind of hurts to see hakeem with all of these problems but you know what, screw all of you who think that hakeem is a burden and that he should be forced to leave. all of you guys who believe this were the same ones that were all over his nuts when he was bringing us houston's two championship rings. hakeem is the best athlete that ever put on a houston uniform of any sort. now if he wants to sit there and average 10 points a game and get paid 16 million for it he has earned the right to do so.
