42'' Phillips 1080p LCD HDTV Everything I've heard on this is that it's a good price for the TV. Thought I would share it with everyone here that might me looking for one.
Holy cow, 29,000:1 contrast ration? That's the highest I've seen and I have read that is the most important aspect to consider when buying an HDTV.
darn tuition... if not for having to pay it this week I could buy one!! Thanks for posting this, even if I can't afford it!
Hey you're welcome man. My cell phone messed up on me 2 days ago so I had to go out and buy a new one at full price yesterday (not going to agree to another 2 year contract). Then my luck this comes up today. I'm probably better off with what I've been looking at anyways. I've been pricing the 55'' and 61'' Samsung slim tv's.
I want to say last week or the week before they had a 32" Phillips tv maybe.... Next time I see one roll around I'll let the board know again.
Just so you know, I bought from this website before, and they are legit. Very fast shipping. Damn, if only I don't have to pay off my student loans
I have a Samsung 40" LCD HDTV with a 25,000:1 contrast ratio. I think I paid around $1450 through Amazon. And they have a 46" LCD with 30,000:1 that's going for around the same price right now.
That's deceiving numbers dude. all the contrast ratios are different per technology. the contrast ratio of an LCD is still the worst compared to plasma, DLP. however, don't let numbers fool you, trust your eyes...and your wallet. that's a decent deal.
I knew I could count on a tinman post. Like I told you, I've been educating myself by reading online. I took a look here: http://www.cnet.com/4520-7874_1-5137915-1.html?tag=main.understand and they state contrast ratio is the important figure, even more so than resolution. I have read that in several other places as well but I posted this one because it is from a well-respected source. I'm still learning though.....
Wow...I was too busy getting everything together this morning to run some errands and I missed that. Either way still not a bad price.
Contrast, accurate color, black level video processing they are all greater than resolution. that's why you see one tv with the same resolution, but twice as much. the twice as much tv is probably twice as better. If you guys want to buy philips, you can always go direct. if you don't mind refurbs. http://www.outlet.philips.com/
What are you looking for? Any certain brand that attracts you? Do you want the 1080p or will a 720p work(dont ask me the difference. I'm just a gamer that would take advantage of the 1080p...lol) DLP, Plasma, LCD? Also what size.
Thats the exact same TV I got. I bought it at Sam's club I paid $1100 with extented warranty the TV is awesome the picture is so clear its like I can reach out slap Luther Head upside the head. But anyways I happy with this TV.
