Well when you have an impact on games, it means you change the way the opponent plays. At least thats whats in my book for nba terms. Making a game winner is impacting the game as well, and so is every single point made by your teammate in that sense.

your only pointing out the positive... how about missing some gimme points... like FREE THROWS. :D

either way, to those that are wanting to trade francis as expiring, you have to think about it this way...

francis, a cheap risk player, that has a great chance of becoming a great player and has a great chance of not becoming anything. wouldn't you give francis few games and then trade him? especially since memphis has no needs for francis except for his contract.

Hope Francis stays healthy so the Rockets can get rid of Luther head and get a young player that can play...

the immense popularity of this thread just reinforces for me the love for SF3.

sure, he's prob nothing more than a scrub at this point in his career, and sure we all got frustrated as hell watching him play sometimes.

but dammit, he's our Stevie and we love him.

Steve Francis if your reeading this - Australia loves you dude.

    :)

    Great news! Steve signs!

now...just need to see where and when he'll be traded to...

nah, honestly, I hope we don't trade him. Give the man a chance to prove himself injury-free.

He'll be a great back-up to our starting PG, even better, work his way to a starter himself. The bottom line is: he's ahead of Aaron...Hes only 31...

Looking forward to see Steve Franchise roll next season!

(if not, by any small chance, we can trade him as like a expiring at trade deadline)...so we've got nothing to lose!

Steve Francis will split time with Rafer at the PG position next year. The only difference being that Francis will hit his open shots and be chosen over Alston to finish games.

how about let's see Steve make it to the start of the season before making lofty predictions...

"hit his open shots" ha good one

everyone here does realize that adelman doesn't know Francis from Adam and owes him no loyalty yet he knows Bobby Jax pretty well and knows he can run the offense

As long as he comes back lean mean and a jumping machine he'll be ok. If comes in like Bonzi Wells under JVG he's done.

    There you go Francis.

Now he only needs to get back to his 'old' shape and just stay healthly. He will be in the rotation I belive

He was never healthy last year. He had a 75% torn patellar tendon. He injured it when he was with Orlando and then got traded to the Knicks and it never healed. He refused to get treatment on it and screwed around for the last 3 years. Bout time he got surgery.

If Francis can get fully healthy he can come off the bench and play the role that Ginobili does for the Spurs. Now that would be something! :)

I was watching that game on TV, and I thought he was hurt after the charge.
I am really sad to see that actually he was looking for a team mate to come pick him up.

It tells a lot about Rafer that he came running over to pickup his "competition" who is the obvious crowd favorite. I still remember feeling bad about the "we want steve" chants when rafer was on the floor getting back the lead. :(

No way Francis is worse than Luther. But I think we've established he no longer an impact player.

He was this year.......probably because of injury, but I guess we will have to wait and see.

After the excitement of having him sign with us during last year's off season, I am taking a wait and see approach to Stevie Franchise this off season.

I have a feeling that he could do really well in this system... though I am unsure of his bball IQ he is definitely a slasher/shooter.

Thanks for posting that video of the Suns game. That was about the only game he played in that he truly looked comfortable this season.

IF we could get that Francis every game... I would take a lineup with him and rafer as the pgs.
