Thats what happens when you have a society that is based on money and power and is run by power hungry people. If no country tried to force their beliefs, there would be no wars. Human extinction is an inevitability that cannot be argued, some may say the same thing about it being self inflicted.
How? It's pretty dang easy to sit back in the comfy chair now and say we could have handled it better. Do you have any suggestions for what should have been done differently?
japanese government forced hundreds of thousands poor people from japan to migrant in china. during the latter part of the war, they couldn't take them all home. they basically slaughtered tons of them. thousands of children were left behind. chinese foster parents brought them up. just imagine, if the war didn't ended sooner. who knows what else they were going to do. to their own people.
have you ever even studied the history of WWII? from your comments i find it very doubtful that you have. you seriously need to take a couple courses on it.
But it does mean war should never be entered into lightly... and certainly if a democracy is being asked to go to war, that decision should not be based on lies and fear, but rather a careful, rational consideration of the facts.
exactly...i can't imagine how many more would have died if we were forced into a normandy style invasion of mainland japan. it was one of the worst times in human history and some people don't seem to understand that dropping the bomb saved lives.
We have our sins. For the "sake" of America we have done some heinous things. Normally its interesting that most people don't want to acknowledge it or accept that America should be blamed for its actions. I love my country like my mother, but that doesnt mean I am oblivious to her faults and won't let her know she needs to get her act together. We have killed millions of INNOCENT people and nearly wiped out a race, while enslaving another. I know other countries have done the same. We have taken losses just like other countries. We HAVE been the agressors of war just like other countries. People talking about J. Wright being anti American and havent even heard his sermon. Most of THESE people are on the other side of America's dream or don't want to acknowledge that their country isn't perfect. I don't hate Iranians, Cubans, Arabians, Japanese, b/c I found out its not the people who are wrong its the govt's that are. And our gov't doesnt make us look any better amongst the world. I love American people, me being one, but American Politics leave much to be desired.
He googled pictures, does that count? rocket3forlife2, you've been on a strange crusade the last few days. You seem to get all of your political/historical opinions via Google and YouTube. Serious question: How old are you?
let's see what else they were doing. performing surgury on people without any medication. they were literatelly screaming during the whole thing. they were also testing biological/chemical weapon on civilian. the results were obtained and used by US after the war. i believe japan even managed to toss a few bioweapon on US soil during the war. someone can check on that. i don't doubt the fact that if japan discovered nukes or bio/chem weapons, they would start using it on US. whatelse, hm... japan also selected big and strong chinese men to go to japan screw their women so their offspring can be as big and strong. i'm not kidding here.
Please Explain why it was understandable. BTW What are your feelings toward the Japanese Race? Rocket River I have an Idea. . but I wanna know
If a person cannot see the difference between WWII and a war started based on lies in Iraq then there is no hope for that person anyway, I could care less about what he/she thinks.
I don't know, and neither did the military intelligence (while I'm sure they have a better clue than me). To claim those saved lives requires a lot of supposition. I really have a problem taking the word of an Administration whose unauthorized commitment of military led to the deaths of 53,000 American troops.
the second bomb was to say, the first wasn't an accident? seriously rocket3, I think you be better off arguing about what we've done in the cold war, propping up dictators to "prevent the spread of communism"
you can't use today's way of thinking to compare what happened more than half century ago. and it's not only the loss of life from mainland invasion. we are also talking about civilian lives that were at risk of their occupation. they were dying every second. the longer the war went on, more people would have died. there should be no doubt about that. the fast you can start rebuilding and put food on the table, the better. it's not just the weapon that were killing people. lack of food, health care, shelter so on.
Japan was wanting to surrender prior to Hiroshima. http://www.ihr.org/jhr/v16/v16n3p-4_Weber.html http://www.doug-long.com/hiroshim.htm It isn't really true that we needed the bombs to make Japan surrender.
