I don't know how being presented a lapel pin by a vet is shameful in the slightest. I think you need to go back rethink your idea of what supporting the troops is. Being handed a token by a war vet isn't shameful in the least.
Its a silly witch hunt that is hurting our country's ability to focus on REAL issues and I support any politician who chooses not to wear one, regardless of party.
Not necessarily to your questions,. ..to your last inference that it is not an issue,...well, I disagree. It's enough of an issue for it to be voiced through the media and here as well... Like I said,.. he gave dumb reasoning on why he doesn't wear one. But that is his reasoning, just like everyone including me has their own reasoning about life. ..If you noticed I never called out on this reasoning before, but it does neccesitate attention when he has suddenly changed his story on his reasoning...The question can legitimately be asked: "what else"? As stated, he has shown this affliction regarding the Rev. Wright episode as well...What else?...
The fact that the media covers it hardly means it's automatically a legitimate issue. It is no issue at all. Iraq, the economy, healthcare, etc. Those are real issues. I love his reasoning for not wearing the pin. I support it. When people try and twist something to make others prove that they either with or against something, it's just plain stupid, and that's when it's time to not wear it. But if the pin ever had a real significant meaning like the one handed to him by a war vet, then by all means wear it. Again, I like the way he handled Wright. He started by denouncing the political statements, but remained loyal to his friend. Once his friend turned on him, he denounced him completely. It was well handled, and throughout the whole thing he addressed the issues in a thoughtful manner.
It makes perfect sense to determine presidential candidate qualifications based on lapel ornamentation. Doesn't it? Maybe he could wear a tiny grenade lapel pin, that would be cool.
Exactly, real issues...But based on his instance of handling minor issues, the question becomes will he continue to change his story and stance...
How is a lapel pin ever an issue? Seriously? It's ****ing flair. A LAPEL PIN SHOULD NEVER BE AN ISSUE!
....but refusing to wear one after being asked seems like there is some kind of embarrassment involved on Obama's part. How hard is it to just put one on? Seems like a stupid thing for Obama to "take a stand" on. Why can't he just wear it? What's he embarrassed about?
This is a simple case of making something out of absolutely nothing. It doesn't matter why he does or does not want to wear one. It is not that important. This is just as stupid as someone making a big deal out of McCain calling his wife a **** 15 years ago. It is not important. It is ridiculous to try to make it an issue.
When Obama's wife says that she's never been proud of America until her man ran for president, and Obama refuses to wear the lapel pin, you might think that something is fishy. Michelle is almost certainly parroting her husband's words....she doesn't seem bright enough to think for herself. Or perhaps she's parroting Jeremiah Wright. I'm not sure
When people try to twist something, I give no audience to that. If I wear a blue shirt and others twisted the meaning of the blue shirt,...Guess what? I'm still wearing the blue shirt because the original position of me wearing the blue shirt was mine to begin with and not others.... It's just plain stupid to allow outside influence to dictate your position and beliefs...The American flag is not owned by those who have "twisted something"...It's MY FLAG!....It's YOUR FLAG!...It's OURS!...AND I WANT IT BACK! ...It means something and I have more respect for those that don't let others dilute that meaning...
