Hell yeah! That used to piss me off when I checked groceries in a Supermarket...Dumb b!tches coming into the express checkout with a basket full of groceries...I could never actually TELL them to go to another register and learn how to count along the way, because they would always whine to my boss... "The customer is always right", my ass...
I don't condone the use of violence. There should be some recourse, not violence, for people that abuse a courtesy. I don't see G stores sending someone to another line for 13, 14 items. It would slow down the express line more than help. Maybe, an announcement. " John Doe has just been checked out with 13 items in line 3" with a spotlight.
I would like to see the checkers stop checking the person at the limited number of items. I have been behind people with well over 20 items in a 10 item line. When I politely tell them they are in the wrong line they get all up in arms.
That's one of my biggest pet peeves. I hate when people can't count their groceries. It's not fair to the people who actually do have the correct number. They should stop checking at that number and make the person go wait in line again. And while we're here, has anyone used/seen those self check-out stands? We have them at our Kroger and my mom hates them. She said there's a reason people are getting paid to be checkers, so why should I do it myself! I tend to agree, but at the same time, you don't have to wait in long lines usually or deal with many people. Any thought?
They are getting more and more liberal with their definition of a weapon. Defining the floor as a weapon is one thing, but a person's foot? What is the difference between assault and battery vs assault and battery with a deadly weapon, if any extremity counts as a deadly weapon?
My bigger pet peeve is the fact that the signs often read "20 Items Or Less" when they should say "20 Items or Fewer" But I go shopping so late at night that the lanes are never open anyway (and I don't usually have to wait in line anyway).
haha...that's true! I don't know how I missed that! I try to go late at night too, but it doesn't always work out that way.
It's also one of my biggest pet peeves. That and the folks who get into the 12 items or less, cash only line and they have a buggy full of groceries and brerak out a credit card. Grrrr!!!!
i understand being peeved when it's a blatant abuse of the policy...but geez...this woman had ONE more item than the limit set out!!! How long did this ONE extra item actually delay this woman...it takes all of about 3 seconds for the checker to grab the item and scan it!
There has to be a reason the store set the cut-off at 12 items. If you have 12 items or less, you can use the express lane. If you have more than 12 items(and 13 qualifies), then don't. Its common courtesy. But, the lady who physically attacked someone for having one more item, thats screwed up.
i understand she broke the rules...i understand it probably cost others some time...i understand it wasn't the most considerate thing in the world to do...i do not understand getting mad about it. i certainly don't understand violence being involved..but i really don't even understand getting seriously angry about it.
You know, sometimes checkers will call you over to the express lane even when it's obvious you have more than the stated limit. It would really be a pisser if the lady that got beat up was called over... RR
