for next year: if yao and or tmac have a season ending injury or a significant enough injury(like a stretch of 10 -15 games or so) and then come back.......the rockets franchise as we know it will be done..........with yao and tmac's prime being wasted due to injuries......... please let them stay healthy all of next year.........please
next yr will be the last yr of the duo if both are injured for long extended period of time. this franchise cannot depend on injured stars. but ONE MORE YEAR
What is most worrisome about Yao's most recent injury is that nobody knows if it was caused by contact or not. So until he has a year or two of no injuries, you will always be worried he will go down, and it is hard to build a contending team when your starting all star center is so fragile. .
I agree. You never know, one day he plays, 2nd day he says he's got broken foot. But I think it is because he is so big. You don't see 7-6 guy too often so maybe that's the key to his recent injuries.
Unfortunately, you're going to have SOME injuries during an NBA Season. The question is can we limit the number of games key players miss and can they be generally healthy (that is, healthy enough to play come playoff time. I can live with Tracy missing a few games here or there because he's dinged up or Yao missing three or four games because of a sore body part or Rafer missing a week because of a strained calf--stuff like that. It becomes problematic when guys miss a third, half or most of a season, including playoff games.
The thing is that most of the injuries we suffered throughout the season were due to false diagnoses of the medical staff. McGrady's knee tunred out to be more serious. Yao's feet tunred out to be more severe than thought (first out 2 games then the whole season. What?) Landry's injury (they said 2-4 games that it was what? like a month?) Rafer's injury got worse. Can we blame the medical staff for that? I don't know I'm no insider but it's a little suspicious to me....
Right, so how do we prevent Yao from getting another stress fracture. Should we just not play him for the first 30 games of the season? I mean if he's gonna be the anchor of this team, he's gonna have to play heavy minutes, especially towards the end of the season when we're trying to catch up to New Orleans in the standings.
