For a few years now we have been saying that the Rockets are a good team, a contender, if we stay healthy, if we defend great, if our PG's hit open shots, and if Tmac shoots a high percentage. I used to agree, but aren't the good teams the ones that win WITHOUT everything going their way? I admit, when everything goes our way we are unstoppable but that doesn't always happen. I think everyone hear has watched enough basketball to know that even good teams have flaws but many of the players on our team have trouble with the most basic elements of basketball. The other day I caught myself being envious of the Hawks' rotation. I worry that there might not be enough time for Morey to fill all the holes this team has before the Tmac/Yao duo is kaput. Anyone else have these same sentiments.
Dude we're awesome. How can you even have the guts to ask that? From this point on, there's no way we can be any worse. We can only go up.
The Rockets are an upper echelon team, easily. Look at the downfall of the Mavs and Suns. They made too many rapid changes and it really hurt them. Houston has kept the same equation but tweaked it here and there, eventually the pieces will fall together into place.
We need a top flight point guard who is a consistent threat to drive, shoot, and dish. Rafer is only 1, dish. If AB isn't the next Chris Paul or Tony parker, we're wasting our time.
we need to stay healthy and develop our young talent and make a small key trade that along wih running RA's offense correctly with all the cuts and easy baskets
We won 55 games with our two stars both missing a significant amount of games. Included in those 55 wins was the second longest winning streak in NBA history. If that doesn't qualify the Rockets as a good team, what the hell would?
i think we are a good regular season team but come play off time we lack the confidence and depth in order for us to have any success in the post season. i really do hope we can get more familiar with coach adelman's system so that we're able to execute better offensively.
Very easy question...YES We won 22 in a row. If only Yao and Tracy can stay healthly for a season we can win it all.
Agree about needing a better PG...but I don't think we need a top flight one. Also, I think Brooks is being groomed to be our Bobby Jackson off the bench....Sacremento style. DD
We have a center who's an offensive force and a liability on defense, especially against Boozer. We have a pg who is too inconsistent. We have a small forward who can't score consistently. We have 5 point guards (Rafer, jackson, AB, Luther, Steve), which is 2 too many. We need 6'7 - 6'9 guys that play D and give Shane and Tmac rest. We're an excellent in season and horrible playoff team
I'd say winning 22 straight games despite losing your All-Star center and then going six games against Utah, who some rank as one of the very best teams in the league, despite still not having your center, having your only point guard available during half the series, and multiple other injuries to key players counts as winning despite not everything going your way.
