You expect Deke to get Yao ten minutes of rest during each game? keep dreaming.

As big and heavy and maybe fragile as Yao is, there is no chance he could keep playing 40 minutes per game also keep healthy.

The players want Deke back, I want Deke back. He's been very good for us.

Calling out Deke implies that he was the cause of our first round playoff exit. Which I don't believe that is accurate. We spotted Utah 2 games with us playing the first two games without Rafer. With Rafer out we were pretty bad in the first two games.

What this means is that we need to find a better backup for Rafer. With him out we only have T-Mac to initiate and run the offense. The opponent zones up on Mac and we bogged down like a chicken with his head cut off.

Wow, can't believe we actually have some Deke haters on this forum. The man is a beast. He stepped up to plate and delivered all he had and MORE when Yao went down. How many times during the series did we see Boozer do his stupid little high arcing jumper 15-20 feet out. Clearly the boy didn't want to bang with Deke. If Woods was out there, Boozer would have ate him alive, inside and outside.

lol, what if Deke becomes an announcer witl bill & bullard...lol, nobody would understand anything...

but I feel its not deke fault, he was suppose to be a backup and was asked to be a starter....It is just hard to watch the hayes/deke combo in the game without Tmac in..

Loren Woods? Jackie Butler? Are you guys kidding me? Over Deke? Threads need a new rating system. This one would go under "cringe-worthy".

i think the coach still needs him and the GM wants him back and his family seems fine with it, how much money would he get next year? maybe that'll be another factor its still more than 500K.

If Deke had never been a rocket, what would happen?

we would need a backup center, besides woods, i think we would have been done, unless we get a dwight howard.

He gives nothing on the offensive side and his defense has much to do with his length than ability at this stage in his career....He has been invaluable these past couple of years but he really looked old this post season than seasons in the past

Deke was still a very good asset and a proven presence in the middle. Why retire? He's still effective and can be great for 15 minutes a game.
Boozer wanted no part of him.....there is no reason for him to retire unless he just wants to hang it up. If Deke wants to retire than good for him. He's had a great career and will be going out on his own terms. But if he wishes to return, I see no reason why the Rox would not want him back.

Yeah, name one better backup center in the NBA. And Deke did fumble a few passes and boards, but this was the first time I've ever seen it happen.

Yao CERTAINLY loses 10x more boards than Deke

Dekembi look lost out there and just too slow.

But he should come back. I think he just got tired by playing so much. He was absolutely brilliant when Yao went down. Also, don't believe we can find anyone better than him.

We just need to play sparingly next season unless its really necessary. And save him for the postseason. Unless Yao goes down again.

Play Yao 42 minutes per game and save Deke for the playoff? Brilliant idea!

I want loren woods to put on 15 pounds of firm fat(not the flabby school boy fat) and 12 pounds of muscle this season........

we could use his height, blocking, rebounding, fouls, and easy layups/dunks..........but he has to develop skills wise and physically........

start working out and eating burgers loren........

I like deke, thanks and welcome him back.........
