I really like Chris Duhon's game, he has good point guard skills and he's a good defender plus he can hit the outside shot. I dont think he'll be that expensive either.
Are you kidding. You think Shane and Rafer are expendable but you wouldnt give up on Novak and Gerald Green? Are you sure Vspan shouldnt be on that list also. He is as much a part of the team as GG is right now. Same potential too.
Francisco Garcia. He's a relatively athletic slasher with a GREAT outside shot. Quick hands and picks up alot of steals. I would be willing to offer Novak + Head for him. This might not be a realistic option if Artest leaves Sacramento, since they would only have Martin and Salmons at the wing position. Please stop throwing out names like Arenas, Calderon and Ellis.
I like him a lot too. But we ain't getting him for Novak and Head. Sacramento might bite on our pick plus an expiring though.
I remember questions about his ceiling (was pretty old coming out of Louisville) and weight made him a late first round pick. But with a high basketball IQ and quick release he has been an impact player in Sacramento and almost always puts up good shooting numbers when given minutes. He's entering the prime of his career and has shown consistent improvement each year he's been in the league. This guy would be a great fit in an Adelman offense, if it means giving up Head and a late first rounder we should do it. The key here is to somehow boost Head's value around the league during the summer.
Not trying to be funny but i actually want Nestorvic to back up Yao (in case Deke retires or does bad next season)
Josh Childress SF/SG Ryan Gomes SF James Jones SF/SG Courtney Lee SG Trade Battier for a top flight PG. (not saying I want to, but we won't get a top flight PG unless we send him). I don't really like any of the centers out there, so I have no one i think we have to have.
Get your facts straight before using them to build a case against a player. Green turned down an offer with the Heat to stay in the city of Houston and work on his game. I can't prove it but I strongly suspect a wink-wink deal that had him working out with John Lucas. Only someone blind or predjudiced can't see Green's upside is limited by attitude far more than talent.
Unless you want Loren Woods getting SIGNIFICANT minutes next season, you're absolutely WRONG. The biggest thing this team needs is a backup 5 who can both lessen Yao's load and still provide a punch off the bench. If they had to spend most of the money they have this offseason and the entire MLE to get it, it's worth it. It's a HUGE hole. Starting 1? Rafer is fine. He's done a good job, and Brooks is only getting better.
Players I'd like to see back include: C - Yao, Deke PF - Scola, Landry, Hayes SF - Battier, Novak SG - T-Mac PG - Rafer, Brooks Honestly, barring injuries, we have a solid rotation already set. What we need is a reliable third scorer coming off the bench. We've seen clearly from this year's playoffs that B-Jax needs to go. Thankfully that's why he was brought here. For his valuable expiring contract. And Luther's made it clear in 12 out of 13 career playoff games that he has zero confidence or ability to do anything in the postseason. Sure all those games were against a tougher, bigger, more physical Jazz team, but would he play any better against the likes of the Spurs, Hornets, or Fakers(maybe L.A., but not the rest)? I still think Mike Miller is exactly what this team needs. A guy who can get them 20 points on any given night. Who is automatic from downtown. And who is tall enough(unlike Luther) to get his shot off when he has a Korver or Price in his face. And best of all, he can be had for expiring contracts and low first rounders. Ron Artest would be fantastic, but we'd likely have to give up at least Battier and Brooks for the guy. I don't know if I want to risk hurting the team's chemistry and depth on a guy who may end up wanting more than the Rockets can afford anyway. So the recipe for the offseason: 1) Re-sign Landry for as little as possible. 2) Get a reliable backup for Yao in case Deke doesn't return. 3) Get another point guard for additional depth. 4) Use the expiring contracts and a future pick or two for Mike Miller. Then sit back and watch the Rockets win 60+ games in '08-'09.
