This argentinian(spanish passport) PF is a great hidden talent. Has developed in spanish league. Their team (TAU Vitoria) was one of the great surprises last year in Europe (reaching the Finals of Euroleague).

    ---2001----Spanish League 6th man-

    THE MAN ON THE COURT

    A) Great talent, warrior´s heart, What great combo!!!!!!!!!!

    B) maybe their personality defines his game, quickly ,strong and agile.

    C) exceptional reverse shot (he domines greatly mid-range shots)

    D) he is always in all counter-attacks

    E) Great offensive rebounder (he grabs more Off rb than Def rebounds in many games)

    F) their courage turn in many steals, (sometimes this causes he enter in fault troubles)

    G) maybe needs a more quick shot mechanical, he knows and is working hard about it

    H) thats a fundamental point:WILLINGNESS TO IMPROVE (ala Gasol)

    I) very good leaping ability

    J) A fighter n the paint, it seems like he thinks "Banzaiiiii" in all those actions

    K) FUNDAMENTAL POINT: he is completely ready to compete to the maximum level

    L) His dream is playing in the NBA (I cant imagine this guy playing with MORE motivation)

    M) unknown for many scouts, and ONLY FOR THIS underrated.

THE MAN OUT OF THE COURT

A peaceful boy (contrasting with their transformation on the court)
good friend of their friends, always has a smart commentary.
he is happy when listen and learn (all argentinians are potential psychoanalyst, that´s not a critic, they are smart guys)

he loves eat, and the good cook, Their bed has mounstrous measures, even for a basketball player(, like he said :" I´m long like a day without bread")

He is very precocious in all (he began to play in Argentinian Pro League with 15 years) and arrived to Spain alone being a minor, (18 years here), thats maturity is present on the court too.

Thats all, I hope you enjoy the report, Only a last thing, please vote in the poll saying me if I would must continue posting a report per week since now or if I would must wait until 2002 draft will be near. That opinion will be appreciated. THX.

    Ojala que si.

Of course, keep posting! You will have to prepare a summary, though, as draft day approaches..... I hope!

Of course we want to know - but a summary is needed yes. Or maybe just keep all prospects in one thread, then they will all be there handy for discussion come draft time.

    good to see you, boville!

Please, please post your reports, but I think it might be a better idea to wait a month or two until closer to draft time when this forum gets more traffic and more BBSers will read your posts.

Do you think Scola might rise to the Top-5 in the draft like Gasol?

Who do you think is the more valuable player, Scola or Gasol?

Any European prospects who can play NBA center?

No, Scola is not more talented than Gasol, Scola is a very good player but Gasol is superior than Scola in many aspects.

Firstly Gasol is younger Scola and have a better level of play, and Gasol improve fastly than Scola...two years ago Gasol played few minutes in Barcelona, last year he was on the principal team and this year is making good things in the NBA.
Another point is that Gasol is a good shooter of three points but he has not shown this season because of in NBA three points is at 6,50 meters and in Europe is at 6,25 meters. And I never have seen Scola shoting a "triple".
And finally Gasol is fastier than Scola

I repeat again Scola is a good player but you can´t compare with Gasol...are very different

Hey Boville, I was reading about Juan Carlos Calderon in marca.com, and they said that there several scouts watching him play. They refer specifically to the Cavs and Timberwolves. He´s only 20 (according to Marca) and guard.

    How good is he?

    REPLY FOR POSTS:

No, Scola isnt hav more talent than Gasol, but he has the same determination and desire to win, Also like Gasol , he is pretty ready for play in NBA

Relativist, yes ,actually we have a couple of C prospects in Europe capables to play in NBA, At Spain the best prospect is Felipe Reyes, my next analysis will be about him. You also will can see him play in the next summer´s world championship, with Raul Lopez, "la bomba", Gasol....

Georock, Calderon is a beautifulllll new jewel, he needs a bit more of experience, but he is a stud, no doubt, he is the spanish version of Steve Francis, a PG that domine the game and rebounds a lot, great future NBA player, thats my bet.

their team, (Fuenlabrada) isnt a contende in spanish league, he needs one year playing in a contender. he will do it and will be a amazing surprise for many.
