Cuban is ghey...Mavs suck...On that note, I was at Sherlock's last night in Addison and ran into this hot chick (no pics)...most beautiful girl I've every seen...Bought her a beer, sShe starts name dropping Cuban, tells me he's weird, wants her to go to the candelroom, etc...She's drunk, I think she's typical Dallas chick, no big deal...

Anyway, on my way out later that night, I see her again and she starts saying she's talking to Jason Kidd on the phone (out loud so everyone can hear)...sure enough, KJkidd and Dampier pull up in his escalade..I'm like, at Sherlock's? Really? They didin't come in because they thought they would be heckled, so the girls followed them...crazy...

My fault, I thought Kidd have a guarantee contract for 08-09, and a player's option for 09-10. Turns out the player's option is for this summer. In this case, Dallas better hope Kidd doesn't op-out, cause that would leave Dallas with no chip to play with.

I think Kidd should totally capitalize on this situation. He should tell Cuban to either give him a huge 1 year extension, or he's going to opt-out. If he opt-out, that means Dallas gave up Harris and Diop for nothing. How awesome would that be?

he wont opt out because no team besides the knicks would pay him as much as he has on his current contract

That would be pretty awesome. But too bad for Kidd and his declining performance, he won't opt out. Dude is due 20+MM and he's not the jkidd he once was back in NJ/Phoenix. He won't even SNIFF 20MM for the rest of his career if he were to opt out now. He's got 2 years TOPS. so he's going to stay and get paid.

Avery's comments are, naturally, all class. Amazing he's once again being the biggest guy in the whole organization. Hope he gets away from them.

What about Mike D'Antoni (if he gets fired by the Suns)

He is a very offensive coach, and in Dallas they have good offensive players

Well, I dont know if that would work

    What do you think?

I was thinking about that. It would be taking a step back for the Mavericks. It would be like the many BBS posters worst fears when we hired Adelman. That we would toss JVG's defensive teachings out the window. Except in this case I think it would come true. And Dallas isn't a top tier defensive club as it is.

So do they build upon the defensive teachings? Or move towards offense? I think D'Antoni would be great for Jason Kidd. But defense wins championships. If they trade Howard for an offensive weapon then I say screw it. Hire D'Antoni and cross your fingers.

Until they realize Dirk Nowitzki is whats holding them back they are going nowhere fast.

Dallas needs defense as well as a strong frontcourt. D'Antoni has failed to motivate his players to defend consistently.I don't think he can help them. They need a change in personnel as well as a new coach.

I remember something about Kidd wanting a 2 year max extension before the Over 36 rule kicked in. I don't know what that rule is about but not getting the extension allegedly led to him wanting out of NJ.
