Does anyone have any recommendations for some nice dinner spots in the woodlands? I was thinking about tommy bahama, kirbys steakhouse, and jaspers gourmet backyard cuisine...anyone been to these places? I dont mind spending some money but i dont want to totally break my bank...
is the new america's open? i'd check that out. amerigos grille is top-notch italian cuisine... it's off raford-sawdust.
I've eaten at Tommy Bahamas and Jaspers before. Also there's an italian place called Brio, I believe, that I've been to as well. I'd probably go back to Tommy Bahamas. All of them will set you back ~$100 for two people with a couple of drinks each
I thought Bahams was pretty overpriced for the level of their food. I enjoyed Jaspers much more. For a date, however, Bahamas is pretty fun and has fun drinks. I also like the sushi place in that same market street area, I forget the name of it, however.
I don't think this really answers the original question becuase the decor in this place is questionable, but I recently went to the olive oil restaurant for lunch up in the Woodlands, and I REALLY enjoyed the Gyro.
I like Kobe's off of Sawdust road as well. Great little hibachi place. I grew up around there and I don't think that you can go wrong with any restaurant that you choose in the area. They're all pretty good. Brios is another favorite of mine as well.
Jasper's sucks big time. I wouldn't go there at all. Tommy Bahama's is ok but I don't think it is worth the price. If you are wanting to drop a little coin, Kirby's is tough to beat. I really like that place but definitely the most expensive. Get the mashed potatoes, they are stupid good. Cru is a pretty cool wine bar in Market Street and while they serve food, I wouldn't go there for the food. Get a bottle of wine, a plate of cheese, and people watch. Someone also mentioned Brio. I think it is really good as well and you won't spend nearly as much as you would at Kirby's.
I went on plenty of dates there. Of course, I also worked there for many years and frequent it when ever I'm back in the Woods...
The new America's is open. Think it just opened about a week or two ago. You might also try Guri del Sul. Its one of those Churruscarias, like Fogo de Chao only like $15 cheaper, but the salad bar isn't as good. Its right off of Research Forest.
I really enjoy Amerigos. Its primarily seafood, steak and northern Italian. It is pretty reasonably priced for a nice place and I prefer it over the larger "high end chains" in the Woodlands area. http://www.amerigos.com/
amerigo's is one of the most underrated restaurants in the houston area... doesn't mean it's not also expensive, because it is. but damn good.
I use to work across the street at Randalls for a few years. I'd pop over there on breaks and grab pizzas. My parents use to grab us pizzas from there for years. Always seemed like good people over there.
It's a chain, but there's a Buca di BEPPO close isn't there? Don't know what the budget is... but they have decent food with a fun atmosphere... better then some "higher" chains. Won't kill the wallet either.
