Looks like a Yorkshire Terrier to me. That, or possibly a Yorkiepoo (Yorkie crossed with a poodle).

The first two look like Yorkies. The third looks like a Silky terrier, which is very similar.

I have had 3 yorkies in my life and they all were fantastic dogs, intelligent, athletic and very playful. They aren't too yippy (I have a min-pin now, that's a yippy dog).

My grandparents had a silky and she was a great companion to them.

The biggest thing with Yorkies is grooming. Their coats grow at a good clip and especially in Houston's climate, you would want to stay on top of keeping them trimmed.
