Surgery for Shane?!? :( He and Heidi have a baby on the way (fairly soon)... I hope if he does need surgery it will not coincide with the arrival, in any negative way...

Shane, if need be, GET WELL SOON! :D :D :D

Why is it so hard for the flagrant T-Mac haters to factor in circumstances in history when forming "opinions"? When he said it was torn, it was clearly because he misunderstood what the doctors told him. He was told he had several microtears in his elbow caused by a strain; clearly he took "torn" from that.

Do you really think a guy who said he didn't deserve to play on the AS team, and on a separate occasion called himself out and said he "sucked" is just making up injuries?

Forgot to mention how he tried to come back the game after he had that elbow injury, and tried to play through the knee injury despite barely being able to run (which was eventually reinjured because the training staff misdiagnosed the injury).

If the surgeries in the offseason will give us a healthy team, then please go for it. All I want is a team that is healthy atleast 95% of the time and a team that will give 100% effort every single time they touch the court...is that too much to ask?

So here is a question. I've been debating this in my mind for a while now. Suppose we do beat utah and go onto the second round. What then? Should we bench TMac, Battier, and Alston, call it a season and let them recuperate for next season? I really do not think it's a good idea to continue playing them injured like this for an extended period of time--especially if we really are not in championship contention. However, if we beat Utah, then anything can happen...

I asked in another thread whether Steve Francis would be in the rotation if he were healthy.

That's a lot of rotation players (or portential rotation) with some kind of "medical issue" for a team in the playoffs. I think it makes it even more remarkable that they were able to win 55 games and 22 in a row and have the Jazz in a must-win situation. I don't think the Jazz can win in Houston this year. From what I've heard, the energy level in Toyota Center Tuesday night was the highest its ever been.

still the same principle. if they can play through w/o risking further and permenant damages to their bodies, then yes play on. otherwise sit down. let the game ride. simple.

Yes, exactly. Even if it's something that will not get better without a certain treatment and extended rest, keep playing them so long as the doctors can be sure they are not risking significant further damage by playing.

... Well, and so long as they're not in too much pain to play in the first place, of course.

Thats one thing thats not mentioned about Battier's game, the guy is a durable warrior. Plays with pain for the sake of the team, he has never played fewer than 78 games since he came into the league. I for one am glad he is a Rocket.
