Very funny how the opposing sides in this thread (and others) can almost be split cleanly between posters joining more than or less than a year and a half.

You're certainly welcome to your opinion on the matter, but I'd have no problem saying it with a straight face. I don't think I'm alone in that, either. You honestly think Duncan would be a step down from McGrady in this series?

Dude if T-Mac gave half as much effort on D as you do defending him in every thread on this board then we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

ain't efficiency the key? a game normally has about 80 shots for a team. if #1 or anyone shoots all of them, say at 38%, that player would score ~60pts. plus ft's he may score 70pts. shall we say "wow, great game"?

It is very possible that if there were as many trade Tmac threads or others like them before that some of his fans went away. I've noticed since I've been lurking here for a few years that there are alot fans of specific players here and very few fans of the rockets, so i respect you for that. I'm just not nearly as emotional about anyone on this team as most people. I could care less if you trade Mcgrady but you better get something as good or better or else its idiotic.

I think the rockets have much bigger problems on the team than Tracy McGrady and i fear that if and when they trade him they will be mired in even worse mediocrity. I feel like Yao's window of opportunity is only a few years longer than his and we could be looking at wasting his good years if we trade Tmac.

I think he's a better player but i think tmac would have a bigger affect on this series, much how Ginobli and Parker are having a bigger affect on his series. The rockets are in dire need of specific skills that Duncan can't provide. Duncan is great in the post but the Jazz would just be able to load up on him because no one would be able to knock down their shots.

Its would be like if the lakers had tmac instead of Odom last year, they would lose more games but that doesn't mean Odom is better than Mcgrady.

pmac, why didn't you write in you sig anything about T-Mac's near TD numbers during playoffs?

I think that is what haters usually do, they only see bad side and they only wanna notice that.

Pinky on shooting hand affects it more than the knee and shoulder when you shoot FT, don't you think?

tmac should not tell anyone he is injured. nobody cares. he has no supporters in the city anymore. just play with the broken knee and get ready to be traded in offseason. :D

I'm not a hater, I'm right with you, he has had great numbers. My sig is to point out that in the past he has had spectacular numbers that only a select few have accomplished in league history. It is obvious that he has been declining but those percentages are outrageously low. They show that he is playing through some type of injury to me. I don't see anyone dropping off that much in the shooting department.

McGrady just said that the knee MIGHT need surgery. He's going to have to go in and check. Surgery is not definite.

I agree with DaDakota. McGrady seems like he's trying to lower everyone's expectations of him. He'll either surpass low expectations, or he'll be excused.

My biggest knock on McGrady now is his weak mentality and media relations.

He lets headlines, Barkley, and ESPN in his head so much, it affects his game. Sometimes it seems like he goes AWAY from the gameplan and diverts to another gameplan that will prove media critics wrong.

My other knock was McGrady's handling of the media.

Bottom line, point blank: McGrady needs to learn how to do interviews and media sessions. This is not a new thing. He's been this way his entire superstar career. He just blabs out his weaknesses and what frustrates him, basically giving the opponent their gameplan to shut him down. He also says things that have potential to be chemistry killers.

"I don't know how to play against the zone."
"It feels good to finally be in the 2nd round."
"I get tired in the 4th quarter."
    "Deke should have been in."

But when the Rockets are winning, he's got:

    "I imposed my will."
    "Everything just kept going in."
"I tried to be aggressive and set up my teammates."

Honesty is great, but it doesn't belong EVERYWHERE. Would you be honest and tell your hand in a poker game?

I'm not taking anything away from McGrady on the court, but his media interviews make you cringe. Show confidence, give general answers; this way you keep your gameplan to yourself and adjust. The opponent won't know what hit them, and you'll force THEM to make another adjustment.

"It feels good to finally be in the 2nd round."

Wow, I forgot this one, which was a real classic T-Mac quote from his pre-Rox days in 2003 when the Magic was up 3-1 against the Pistons. His parting from Orlando was certainly acrimonious.

You'd think he'd have learned how not to put his foot in his mouth after that major mistake. Unfortunately not.

Man this guy is an attention and image freak, I bet you he is not happy about looking like a jerk attacking his teammates and coach, so he is now bringing out the "I am sick and need help, but I am doing it for the team" card.

Did this injury affect his 60% FT shooting, his ability to leap to a dunk when he feels like it, Only running back on defense after he commits a turn over, and his mouth that is attacking his teammates and coach in the middle of the playoffs?

Aren't most players playing with injuries now at the end of the season? why is it only him who is blaming the losses on injuries.

TMac please do not pull up with the 3 pt jumpers at the weirdeest times because it is not good your knees for or our hearts. If you can't do that then at least SHUT UP

So trade him to a team like the Suns or Jazz and see what he does to Houston with a good supporting cast.
