...and Wright is "coming after" Obama if Obama is elected. I tend to agree with Wright on the fact that Obama still agrees with Wright. 20 years of actions are worth a hell of a lot more than a politically convenient "denouncing" of the comments by Obama http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0408/9912.html Wright to Obama: 'Coming after you' By MIKE ALLEN | 4/28/08 11:58 AM EST Text Size: The Rev. Jeremiah Wright said Monday that he will try to change national policy by “coming after” Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) if he is elected president. The pastor also insisted Obama “didn’t denounce” him and “didn’t distance himself” from Wright’s controversial remarks, but “did what politicians do.” Wright implied Obama still agrees with him by saying: “He had to distance himself, because he's a politician, from what the media was saying I had said, which was [portrayed as] anti-American.” Wright, who was Obama’s pastor for 20 years and performed his wedding, made the explosive comment during a chaotic question-and-answer session at the National Press Club in Washington, following the pastor’s remarks about the black church in America. “I said to Barack Obama last year, ‘If you get elected, November the 5th I'm coming after you, because you'll be representing a government whose policies grind under people,’ Wright said. The minister was speaking as part of a tour that is drawing heavy news coverage and causing a huge headache for Obama’s presidential campaign. Obama, seeking to distance himself from remarks by Wright that some have taken as anti-American, has emphasized that Wright has retired. But Wright talks of their relationship in the present tense. “I'm a pastor; he's a member,” he said. “I'm not a ‘spiritual mentor.’ “ In the Democratic debate on April 16, Obama referred to Wright as “somebody who is associated with me that I have disowned,” then clarified that to say he had disowned the comments. But Wright objected to a question saying Obama had denounced him. “Whoever wrote that question doesn't read or watch the news,” Wright said. “He did not denounce me. He distanced himself from some of my remarks, like most of you, never having heard the sermon, all right? … “He didn't distance himself. He had to distance himself, because he's a politician, from what the media was saying I had said, which was [portrayed as] anti-American. … He did, as I said, what politicians do.”
texxxx and T_J are increasingly exhibiting extreme manic behavior as it becomes more clear that Obama will be the next president--spewing incoherent crap left and right while suffering under the delusion that their view of the world even closely resembles reality. It's OK, little fundies, it'll all be over soon.
Indeed. By BT's logic, if the KKK came out and said that "McCain agrees with us," then they must be right, huh? This ain't worth a thread. If Obama agrees with him it is. If not it's pointless tripe.
I'm sure Obama agrees with Wright on many topics. Of course, there's nothing inherently wrong with agreeing with somebody, no matter how evil that person is portrayed, on any given issue.
do what politicians do huh.... so he seperates himself from wright and muslims. and he aligns himself with low income families? american oppurtunism? single parent homes? also, isnt it weird that the way people are attacking obama is through his association with others. obviously this happens with all candidates but with obama it seems as though they dont have actual information about obama discrediting him but rather using unpopular people, encouraged by the media (like wright) to get the masses riled up. what do people think?
Oh, I'm sure he does. But Wright seems to be maintaining that Obama agrees with him on everything, which I very much doubt.
Welcome to the entirety of TJ and BT's posts. All they know how to do is talk about who Obama associates with. Apparently those two wouldn't elect Jesus, either. He associated with terrible people constantly.
Well, read this: Yeah um, no, Mr. Wright... that's exactly what he did. He's trying to make it sound like Obama is all about racism if only he wasn't running for president. I very much doubt that.
It's a very serious issue to align yourself for 20 years with an American hating, hate-spewing, anti-semitic like Rev Wright. Rezko's no saint, either. Obama has shown extremely poor judgment in aligning himself with these folks. It's an issue. Don't listen to the kool-aid drinking Obama drones who like to pile on and attack any conservative opinion in this forum. The youth of America simply do not think through the issues - they buy into the Obama marketing sizzle. That's all Obama's campaign is - fluff.
I am guessing this Wright doesn't really want Obama elected or he would just shut his trap and stay quiet.
I don't know what's wrong with your comprehension skills, but poor as they are, I will try and make it plain, so that you can understand. Obama NEVER aligned himself with Wright politically. Spiritually he was brought to Christianity by Wright, and sought advice from him on spiritual matters.
20 years worth of attendance in the pews speaks for itself. So does Obama bringing Wright onto his campaign team in a leadership role. Obama only denounced Wright after he was shamed into doing it by the public. Actions speak much louder than.....just words.
Well we can assume that since Texxx has not provided the requested link showing Obama stating that he agrees with Wright, that this thread and Texxx himself has once again been proven to be a lie and a liar. next
lol nice try. It can be inferred by the link I provided. Or are you saying that you know what Obama thinks better than his advisor of 20 years? next
