Now if we somehow got Monta Ellis. Man that is an instant offensive playmaking explosion right there. Premium guard and we'd be extremely lucky to get him.

well, he played chuck hayes and luther head.

if you look at it unbiased you would have to agree that jvg always plays rookies when he needs to and / or when they're good enough. in my opinion that's the right approach for a team in win now mode. i'm glad adelman sticks to this as well. well, they're both good coaches. and so is d'antoni, btw.

I still think he's making a pitch to take over the Phoenix Suns. Van Gundy would have that team playing inside out ball and hard nosed defense. Same as the Miami Heat. This Suns team is simply stacked but they can't run anymore the way D'Antoni liked it. It has to be more of a Riley type offense and defense now.

i think it would be real foolish for a team to give monta the max...he is def worth more than mle money but not a max contract imo. he is able to thrive because of nellie and players like jackson and davis. i dont know if he will be nearly as effective on another team.

and yes i would like him on the rockets as well

Definitely agree that JVG is fishing for an invite. Not sure how well it would work right away though. I see JVG doing some serious retooling if given the chance.

JVG would be an excellent choice for them. Not as good as Adelman (has shown he is awefully astute at keeping strengths and tweaking them) would have though :D

Larry Brown or that ex Indy/Detroit guy would not be bad. Phx team defense should be better than it is. With their physical attributes guys like Amare, Barbosa and Diaw should be better defenders than they are. Bell and Hill can defend but of course they learned it before they arrived there.

Azubuike played like trash. He had his opportunities here.

He lucked out and found a coach who lets guys play street ball. No need to think too much just ball. Probably the best place for a young, athletic player to get his confidence.

I'll go out on a limb and say that unless Azubuike stays under Don Nelson or lucks out and gets to play for Denver, Phoenix or maybe the Raptors he'll fade out and become a 12th man and then out of the league in 3 years. I never watched him in college but he looks to be about 2/3 as smart as Stromile Swift.

Well I did watch him in college and to say that he's about 2/3's as smart as Stromile Swift is laughable.

I am sorry, but you can't be stupid and play for Tubby Smith. He won't let you on the court. You know how everyone says Tayshaun, Chuck and Rajon Rondo have high bball IQ... well the same thing is true about Kelenna.

If you can't get Tubby's defense, you don't get on the court. No matter how talented you are.

He's athletic like Swift to a certain extent, but not a stupid basketball player.
